Aleks was sick and unfortunately for Kevin, that meant that he was extra whiny and extra annoying to deal with. But one little extra thing that came with that is that he was also extra cuddly, something that was once in a blue moon. Kevin knew that his boyfriend had the tendency to try and push people away from him, not wanting to be touched or messed with. Which in turn only made people do it more and make the issue even worse; Kevin knew not to mess with him too much and often gave him his personal space. That had been precisely what he’d been doing until he heard the faint hacking upstairs and shook his head. It was probably time for another round of medication.

They’d made a quick doctor visit a few days ago to get Aleks his medication in hopes of slowing down the problematic cough and hoping for it to eventually go away. It was a type of cough in which often brought tears to the slightly older man’s eyes and made Kevin cringe when he heard it. So far, it had gotten better but not enough to be completely settled again. From his understanding, Aleks get this bad off to be put on bed rest was something that didn’t happen often and only happened when he really didn’t take care of himself well enough. Hence, not eating well and not getting enough sleep, so this came as no surprise to him when they found that out.

Sighing as he stood up and told Eddie he would return shortly to finish their Minecraft Daily recording session, getting a quick and happy “okay!” in return, he headed upstairs. Kevin knocked softly on the door once and then entered, and raised an eyebrow at what he found Aleks attempting to do. “Really?” He questioned, his voice dropping deeper as he pulled him up into the sitting position he had been left in earlier. “You should’ve said you wanted something from the floor.” Kevin murmured, kissing the side of his head softly and kneeling to grab what Aleks had been after. Even less of a surprise when he hacked and nodded at the hoodie that was Kevin’s, wanting it to wear and not his own.

"Alright." He sighed, handing it to him as he stood back up. "Please don’t scare me like that again, okay? I thought something was seriously wrong." He whispered, hugging him as he felt Aleks wrap his arms around him. He knew what this meant when he was sick — he knew it meant he wanted him to stay. "Aleks, give me one second and I’ll be right back. I promise, you can have me all to yourself in a moment." His voice was soft, almost as though he were talking to a child, and right now? Aleks was pretty much a child.

He went back downstairs, told Eddie and Steven that he’d have to drop out early — everyone’s favorite child needed him. Of course, they laughed and bid him farewell, wishing Aleks to get better. On his way back up, he stopped in the kitchen to grab the medication and a bottled water for the both of them and began his march back upstairs. This week alone, he was sure that he’d accumulated five miles in just walking the stairs every day. He didn’t blame Aleks, he blamed the fact that their office was on the bottom floor of their two-story apartment.

Once he came back into the room, he found Aleks situated with the hoodie encasing him, happily smiling as he pawed away at a Gameboy Advance screen. Kevin had found it in the moving boxes that he had and donated it to his boyfriend, who merrily took it and bought a few copies of different games he enjoyed on Ebay. No surprise now when he found him playing Pokémon on it and smiling at his victories. “Medication time?” Aleks asked once he looked up from his battle and Kevin nodded. “Hooray for me.” He grumbled, coughing a bit more and taking the items from him, tossing them down his throat in a fluid movement. Once he was done, he curled up on his side with the game system, apparently no longer requiring that he be held onto by Kevin.

However, this was the one time that he was going to disobey his no touching rule and curl up next to him, considering that the recording had to be stopped early. “What are you doing, dude?” He heard Aleks mumble as he rolled over and into Kevin’s chest, no longer caring at that point. “Nevermind, don’t care.” He teased, settling into the arms that encased him.
