"Baby, what are we going to do?" Yulia asks Lena starting to worry about getting food and a place to live.

"Yulia sweetheart we will be fine. I promise you. With little Annie with is now, you have got to be strong for her. We are her family now. We're all she has. The pour girl is 4 years old. She is such a smart little girl. We both have to be strong for her sake. She needs us." Lena says starting to tear up.

"Lena please don't cry. God I hate it when you cry." Yulia says frowning.

"I'm sorry. I just didn't know it would be this hard to be a parent." Lena states.

"I know sweetie. But together we can do anything." Yulia confesses.

Lena smiles and looks at her girlfriend. She kisses her softly and starts driving again.

"Baby look at this house. It's perfect to raise Annie. Renting it's only 2400 a month. And if we buy it it's 24000 a year til the mortgage is paid off." Lena says.

"I don't know honey. It seems a bit expensive." Yulia states as she thinks about all the money in there savings account.

"But baby... we need a place to live and we have at least 32000 in savings."

Yulia looks at her and then shakes her head.

"But that won't leave us with much. And if we use all that we won't have much to get food with. We need to find jobs and a day care for her. Otherwise this won't work."

Lena then gives her the puppy dog face.

"Ugh don't give me the puppy face. I hate that look."

Lena goes into full puppy mode.

"Ugh fine. But you have to find a job first."

The next day they sign the papers to buy the house and talk the lady into letting them pay half so that they can find jobs a day care and then pay the rest when they get the first paycheck.

"Yulia come here for a second." Lena says while cleaning some of the dishes the lady gave them to start with.

"Is everything okay sweetie?" Yulia says panicking.

"Yes everything is fine. But I need you to find out when Annies next birthday is." Lena says smiling.

Yulia smiles and looks out the window of the kitchen and watches Annie outside on the swing.

"Sweetie please be careful." Lena says.

Annie looks up and smiles.

"Okay momma."

Yulia walks out back and up the Annie.

"Sweetie I have a couple questions for you." She says.

"Okay." She smiles.

Yulia pulls Annie into her lap and sits on the bench.

"When's your birthday?" She asks her softly.

"January 26th. I turn this many." She holds up 5 fingers.

"You'll be a big girl. So what do you want for your birthday?" She asks as a follow up question.

"Happiness. I want to be happy on my birthday." She says as she runs to the small lake and starts skipping stones.

Yulia then starts walking to the house and up to Lena.

"Her birthday is January 26th." Yulia says looking at her girlfriend.

"That's in 2 months. Yulia we don't have money for Christmas let alone her birthday." Lena states the truth.

"Lena honey calm down. She says she just wants to be happy." Yulia says trying to comfort her.

"But what about Christmas? Yulia she's 4. She believes in Santa. She needs to keep her childhood. If her belief in Santa disappears now her belief in everything will. She won't know what to believe. Yulia I want what's best for her. She may not be our daughter biologically but she is our child now. We have to start thinking about her before we do anything now. The littlest things could disappoint her or scare her." Lena says.

"Lena she may be 4 but she's not stupid. She knows we aren't her real parents. And she know this isn't her old home. But she also knows of us as the ones who saved her and that we won't abandon her. I love her just as much as I love you. We will be just fine raising her. Trust me." Yulia states.

Lena looks at her and tears up and holds her close.
