'We are not mates!'

Alyson POV

Once we reached his father's office he knocked and we heard a gruff 'Come in'. Taking that as cue we walked in. It was a pretty nice office though it reminded me of the counselor that this girl that I roomed with made me see. I also lost my virginity to to the counselor as well. That was a year before I met Derek and his pride.

"Hello son. Who is this?"

"This is my mate."

What?! What the hell is wrong with this guy? Why would he say that?

"We are not mates!" I yelled and didn't regret it at all.

He looked at me and smirked. Why the hell is he smirking?

"What are you here for again?" his father asked dispruting our little stare down fit for a 5 year old.

I sighed and looked at him not at all surprised that he was an older version of his son. With the same blue eyes though they were quite dull from years of work. He had the eyes of a man who's worked a thousand days but seen ten thousand unspeakable things.

I found myself saying though things to him and I didn't even realize it. My panther, Sasha, must have taken over because after I was done I felt woozy and fainted.

Alyson POV (3 days later)

I woke up and my panther Sasha clawed at my chest begging to be let out.

I need to run!

Will you hush?! My head is hurting and you make no better!

She quieted down afterwards and looking around the room I spotted two tylenol pills on the nightstand beside me and without a second thought I swallowed them along with some water that was there as well.

Better? she asked with a tinge of sarcasm.

Ignoring her I sniffed and actually took in my surroundings. I was in boys room obviously because it was quite messy and looked like Mr Alpha-to-be needed lessons in cleaning up but I wasn't going to give it to him. It also had his scent everywhere mixed with a girl. Must be his girlfriend. I was actually quite happy because if he rejected me three times then our bond, that is if ever took place, will disappear and I won't have to worry about him ever again and I can be with Derek!

The door opened a girl stumbled in the room trying to fix her clothes and let me tell you she wasn't doing a very good job at all. I smelt Mr Alpha-to-be's scent on her and I knew what he was trying to do and wasn't going to work. A typical blonde with blue eyes though she didn't look mean or slutty.

"Do you need help?" I asked.

"Umm... no. That's all right. Alex told me come here and get you because dinner is starting."

"All right."

She looked confused and then nodded. Right when she was about to leave I called out to her.

"Wait!" I picked up my shoes and my bag which was right beside them.

"Yeah?"

I put on my shoes. "What's your name?"

"Melissa. You?"

"Alyson."

We walked out of the room together and Mr. Alpha-to-be appeared out of nowhere and put his arm around her. They kissed and I rolled my eyes. I didn't ask if they were dating because they weren't. Or were they?

We arrived at the dining room and I saw at least by estimation a hundred and fifteen people which is nothing compared to my pride. I ignored the wolfs whistles and Mr. Alpha-to-be's growls while walking to an empty place between two girls. One had black hair, blue eyes, and a slender neck which somehow reminded me of a swan. The other girl looked exactly like Melissa but with hazel eyes and dirty blonde hair.

I sat down and everyone started passing food to each other. I didn't really want to eat anything so I didn't take much.

"Why isn't she hardly eating?" A girl across the table said loudly.

"Maybe she's anorexic."

They laughed but I ignored them and picked at my food.

"What's wrong?" a soft voice asked. 

I turned to the left and looked at the girl with blue eyes.

"Nothing. I just want to go hunting."

"Why?" The girl that looked like Melissa spoke.

"Panther cans eat human food but we're more animal than human so we have to go hunting at least twice a week to sastify the animal inside."

They nodded as if they understood but I don't think they did. I looked around trying to find the Alpha to ask permission to leave because even though I wasn't apart of their pack or whatever I was still on their territory and I wanted to play it safe.

I spotted him talking to another man who was probably his second in command. They were at the head of the table so I walked up there but didn't bow my head or anything because I wasn't apart of their race so it wasn't needed. I tapped him on the shoulder and he turned around and smiled which brightened his dull eyes.

"Yes? What can I do for you...?"

"Alyson.

"What do you need Alyson?"

"I wanted your permission to leave to go on a hunt."

"A hunt? Why?"

I told him the same thing I told the two girls. He nodded and smiled again.

"I give you permission."

I grinned and picking up my bag I left while thanking him.
