I got out the car held Jerome's arm and we walked up to his cousins house. Jerome presses the door bell and it was seconds till the door was opened. "Jerome!" Ray said opening the door,
"Wagwarn son" Jerome said then they dapped, Ray then turned to face me "Shaniya" he blushed a bit but was trying to hide it
"Call me Niya or NyNy I told you" I laughed
"Anyway why y'all here?"
"Cause we can be nigga" Jerome said walking past Ray into his house. Ray was 20 and lived by himself, he didn't buy the house his parents bought it for him for his 19th the house was beautiful. I don't know how but all of Jerome's family were ballin!
"O' come in why don't you come in" he said sarcastically because we had already walked into the house.
"Ray Ray your house is beautiful"
"You ain't never been here?"
"Nope I normally see you when you over 'romes"
"Oh want me to give you a tour?"
"It's fine" I smiled then Jerome pinched me
"Don't do him like that he likes you let him show you around" Jerome whispered in my ear then he walked to the fridge pulled out some chicken, he didn't even heat it just sat at the breakfast bare and yammed it off
"Oh actually Ray I wouldn't mind looking around" his face lit up a bit I followed him to the stairs
"After you" he said gesturing for me to walk up the stairs ahead of him "Why you dressed that way" he asked
"Excuse me?"
"I mean you're wearing basketball shorts and boys tee"
"Oh" I looked down at myself "it's a long story, these aren't my clothes though"
"Oh are they Jerome's?"
"Not even" I said gritting my teeth
"Oh, what's up with you two anyway? Y'all act like a married couple!"
"Me and Jerome?" I laughed "no it's not like that we're like family known him since I was 18 months old I love him like family that's all"
"Oh that's cool anyway this is the first bathroom" he opened the door and this house just getting more and more beautiful although It was pretty sweet I was more interested in seeing the rooms
"Ray? No disrespect you bathrooms beautiful, but can I see the rooms" I laughed
"Ok" there was silence for a moment then Ray spoken again "you're beautiful you know"
"What?" I wasn't expecting him to say that to me at all
"You're beautiful, you always have been... even before you changed"
"Right yeah sure" I laughed uncomfortably
"I'm serious you didn't need to change yourself at all" Ray looked into my eyes "and you have the most beautiful eyes" I couldn't help myself I began blushing
"Why are you saying this?"
"Because you deserve compliments especially after-" I automatically got annoyed Jerome had told his cousin what had happened to me, I bed this was all a set up to make me feel more secure Ray doesn't like me Jerome probably just told him to be nice for fuck sake, why would he do that it's bad enough everyone in school knowing now Jerome's cousin does too, imagine who else will find out!
"Did Jerome tell you what happened?" I laughed sarcastically "of course he did who am I kidding no way you'd be being this nice for no reason, don't be nice to me out of pity I don't need that shit"
