THE DISGUISED BAD GIRL
☾ Chapter Seven ☽
Groaning, I grab my pillow and pull it over my face. I did not want to get up, and I instantly regretted my choices of stalking people, yet, again for the second night in a row.
I had gone from Mason to Chase, to a girl named Kira, Jess and Vickie - hell, I even managed to end up on Masons mothers Facebook page.
Funnily enough, they were all linked and somehow I even managed to find a little bit of gossip along the way.
But none of that suppressed the fact that I had to be at school in half an hour, and I had no idea what to wear, still needed to shower and eat. Sighing, I throw off the duvet, and immediately a cold breeze hits my bare legs - causing me to grab the duvet and wrap it around me tightly. It happened every morning, and I still never learnt to just stick on some fluffy pants, instead of my shorts.
Nevertheless, I get out of bed and head in to the shower. I couldn't spend too long - like I usually did, so I quickly wash my hair and body before I hop out, and head in to my closet. Grabbing some black jeans, a white jumper, and some vans. It wasn't 'nerdy', but thinking about it, you didn't have to wear a certain attire to be classed as nerdy.
After applying a few coats of mascara, and some lip balm to my dried plump lips - I head downstairs with ten minutes to spare. Deciding I didn't have much time to make some proper dinner - like always, I grab a Coco Pops cereal bar, and a capri sun and head out.
It doesn't take long getting to College, especially when I didn't have to drive Sam and Jace to their school - since, they had left earlier due to extra curriculum activities. I didn't park anywhere near the front, because somehow it would always cause some sort of drama, instead I find a spot somewhat between the three lanes.
Not stopping at my locker, like usual - I head to my lesson. I didn't have much time anyway, and stopping meant having a chat with the girls and I would end up late, and once again - noticed. I had already been interrogated by Chase, and I did not want another interview, so pulling my chair out, I slump down.
Chemistry, was one of my favourite subjects, that I was genuinely interested in - surprisingly. But as soon as I see Chase take a seat beside me - I all of a sudden did not want to be here, ultimately regretting picking the subject. His chemistry jokes weren't even funny - they were cringey and I might as well walk out now with no grade - because I couldn't get any better with him being my partner.
"Do you have 11 protons?"
I turn my head, sending him a glare. "What?"
"Cause you're sodium fine." He smirks, throwing an arm over my shoulder - shrugging it off, I turn my head to the front.
"Not funny." I say, grabbing my pencil case and pad, and copy the notes on the board. He rolls his eyes, and grabs a pen from my case, and some paper. Not bothering to give him the satisfaction of annoying me - I ignore him.
When he finally stops talking, I feel my body relax, not realising I was so tense and uncomfortable around him. I wasn't scared of him - no way, it just annoyed me that he knew who I was - and it could ruin my whole reputation. Knowing him, he would probably trade what he knew for a quickie. Shrugging the thought of Chase having sex, I rest my chin in the palm of hands.
I just wanted the day over, and it had only just started. I just wanted to sleep, dammit! When I hear shuffling, my eyes flicker open and the class seems to be on their feet and even Chase seems to have disappeared from my side and now grabbing a bunsen burner. Scowling, I grab some safety glasses and a lab coat, and stand beside Chase.
"You could have told me that they were doing an experiment." I say, grabbing the splinter, and bending it a couple of times. He grabs it out of my hands, and lights it up.
"And do what?" He pauses, his face completely straight. "Disturb you dreaming of me naked?"
Rolling my eyes, I flip through the lab booklet and find the right page. "Don't be so butt-hurt that I destroyed you in dodgeball," I mutter, knowing full well that it will frustrate him, and when he instantly scowls - I mentally do a happy dance.
"You cheated."
"You wish," I snap, I hated it when someone lost and they used the 'cheat' card - it's like they can't comprehend that they lost. He mutters something under his breath, and I carry on with the experiment. I was not looking forward to Art later on in that day, but I found out from Mason on Saturday, that he was also in that class. I'll sit next to him, I'll be fine then.
"Chloe." Chase snaps, bringing me out of trace.
"What?" I spit, he was starting to annoy the hell out of me now - why can't he just leave me alone with his stupid chemistry puns.
He shakes his head, glaring at me in disgust. "You almost fucking burnt your hand."
"Oh."
"Yeah, oh, if it wasn't for me - you'd have no fingers left." Rolling my eyes, I glance at the bunsen burner. He was probably right, because at the desk ahead of us, Lucas was asking if I was alright, and I nod my head.
"Thanks," I tell him, he doesn't say anything. My eyes glance to my hand, and my eyes nearly fall out of their sockets when I realise his hand was still on mine, and once his eyes follow mine - he quickly lets go and wipes them on his lab coat as if I was diseased.
Queue the awkwardness.
