THE DISGUISED BAD GIRL

Chapter Eight - Rumours & Promises

And I wish I could say the rest of the day went by swiftly, but then I'd be lying. After chemistry and the whole awkward situation, the news had spread around like the plague by lunch. Obviously, it wasn't what actually happened - but who cares what I had to say.

Apparently, Chase had kissed my hand, we held hands the whole lesson and he had given me some charm bracelet. I'd like to see this bracelet - because I didn't see a single thing hanging from my wrist. I mean, who even came up with such ludicrous ideas. It was a mere touch, and it was all just in the moment.

Walking past two girls, they glance and whisper to each other - making me roll my eyes. I would have confronted them by now, but then my whole reputation would be ruined, and it seemed lately this 'geeky' reputation was starting to come in the way of many things. And I was so focused on everything that I hadn't realised Mason come and stand in front of me.

Waving his hand in front of my face, a smirk tugged on his lips. "Hello," He says, dimples digging in to his cheeks. "Glad to see you're awake."

Shaking my head, I continue walking, his presence beside me. "So, what's up?"

He shrugs his shoulders, as we make our way towards the canteen. "Nothing really," He mutters. "Just wanted to check up on you." I smile lightly as the words leave his mouth, he was very sweet and charming and sincere - but nobody was perfect and there sure had to be something that wasn't good about him. Shrugging the thought of my shoulders, I pull open the doors.

"I assure you that I'm okay," I tell him, and he nods his head.

"Good." He pauses. "Did you find the guy who punched your brother?"

Shaking my head, I turn to face him about to tell him that it was actually my brothers fault but Chases eyes meet mine and he sends a glare in my direction.

"Mase," At the sound of his voice, Mason turns around and fists bumps him. "What are you doing with her?"

"Who, Chloe?" Mason asks, confusion evident in his voice as to why Chase had called me in such a disgusted manner.

"No," Chase says, his face completely straight. "The wall."

This causes Mason to chuckle lightly, and he places an arm around my shoulder. I hold on to his hand and lightly pull it off.

"I was just leaving anyway," I tell them, and I turn around and scan the canteen for Sarah. When there no sign of her, I sigh and pull my bag on to my shoulder. I hated not having anyone to sit with, or many friends - it made me feel alone.

"Chloe." I turn around and smile lightly at Mason. "Come and sit with us."

Shaking my head, I scan the canteen once again. "It's fine,"

"Chase" Mason mutters, elbowing him in the stomach. "Tell her she can sit with us," He whispers and obviously I hear it, I mean I'm only stood a few steps away. Chase scowls, sending a glare at Mason - and turns around.

"Chloe, stop being stubborn and sit with us." and there was frustration evident in the way his words left his mouth, and I almost declined once again - but I decided against it. Chase was not going to put me down, and Mason was a good friend and held good company. So nodding my head, I follow them to a table, and as soon as I sat down - I immediately felt out of place.
