The Disguised Bad Girl

As I reached the drive way, a familiar car was parked at the front. I instantly knew who it was, because they had customised their car plates to unique names, and so when I parked my car behind theres, an unfamiliar sensation began to build up in my stomach. I had missed them so much, to the point I had forgotten what it was like to be in the same environment as them. It had been about seven months since I last saw them, and so I was nervous, to say the least.

Grabbing my bag, I hopped out of the car and make my way inside my house. "Mum?" I shout, "Dad?" And when a petite and masculine figure come in to my view, I instantly drop my bags and wrap my arms around them.

"I missed you." I pause, taking in the familiar scent of mums lavender perfume. "So, so much." Dad chuckles, his laughter sending vibrations in to my chest.

"We missed you too." Mum mutters, her embrace tightening.

We stand there for a couple of minutes, enjoying each others company, before Jace and Sam ruin the moment. "Stop hogging them to yourself Chlo, they're our parents too!"

I roll my eyes, and let go of them, taking a long look at their appearance. They hadn't changed much since I last saw them, Mum was still tanned with her blonde hair, and Dad was still muscly. Both of them had the odd fine lines and Dads hair was beginning to turn a light shade of grey. I was guessing that Mums did too, but she had obviously dyed it.

"You all look so grown up!" Mum whimpers, as she places a kiss on both Jace and Sams cheek.

"Mum!," They both whine in unison, and it was moments like this, that made me wish they were here all the time. But I knew they both worked hard, their jobs were not easy. We didn't always have much money, when we were younger, we barely had enough money to pay the bills, and so when they both were offered jobs, it was just indeclinable. But obviously, there was a downside to everything, and it just so happened that it meant we didn't see them as much, and it was hard at first to comprehend that they were going to leave, but we all knew that they were only doing it so that we had opportunities that they hadn't the chance to have.

It obviously had a negative effect on us all. Jace was very closed up for the first year, since he was the youngest, and possible the closest to my parents - especially mum. They would always do things together. Sam, on the other hand, expressed his feelings by playing football, and due to the constant practices and matches and celebration parties - he was rarely at home.

I however, was probably the worst. I began smoking and drinking, and was constantly out, partying. It soon began to make a huge affect on us all, and we all realised that by doing these things, we were not helping and so we all tried to change, for the better. With the help of Rose of course.

So when we all sat around the dining table, and mum dropped the question on how we were all coping, you could see that we were all incredibly uncomfortable. Although, my change was apparent, Jace and Sam were both still dealing with the change, and finding ways to deal with it, to them was harder.

Jace's eyes meet mine, his head lowered and his fork digging at his food, and it was obvious that Sam was not about to say anything, and so taking one for the team, I mutter a quick fine.

"Everyone's coping," I say, my eyes meeting both my dad and mum. "I guess."

Dad nods his head, his gaze meeting Jace and Sams. "How about you boys, anything new?"

"Sam has a girlfriend!" Jace smirks, leaning back on his chair and my eyes quickly glance to Sam. It was true, he had mentioned it once or twice, but I only thought it was just a fling, a high school crush - but now looking at Sams blushed cheeks, it may be more than just that.
