"Wakey, Wakey love" Newt whispers into my ear a week after becoming a runner and running with Newt in the maze.
"Please let me sleep" I beg in my morning voice, I on average only have three hours of sleep a night so I was desperate for sleep, "and you know I would love to let you sleep in but we've got some running to do so get up!" He says pulling the covers of me, leaving me to the mercy of the cold I jolt up realising what time it was.
"Okay you got me I'm up, common we're going to be late!" I shout in defeat pulling on my running boots and grabbing my rucksac, dragging Newt along with me to get breakfast.
"Morning greenie!" Minho shouts out as Newt and I approach their table with our breakfast in hand, "you now what I'm not gonna miss you shanks calling me greenie, I mean enjoy it while it lasts but as soon as that box comes up you'll never be able to call me that!" I say smirking towards him and the other runners on our table, "i bet that none of you even remember what my name is can you?" I ask looking around at each of them waiting for an answer "is it Lucy?" One of the runners asks making me laugh my head off "I told you none of you remember my name..." but I'm cut off by Newt "It's Elizabeth" I turn my head to look at him as everyone just stares at him in silence "hey I was the first shank she told okay why wouldn't I remember her name!" Shaking his head in disbeleif that no one ever called me by my name at least once.
"He's right shuck it's been awhile since I've heard someone say it everyone just calls me greenie, shank or Newt calls me love!" I say feeling better about hearing someone say my name. "Come on you lot we've got some running to do so let's move before the grievers decide to sting the lot of you" Minho orders everyone as he leaves and heads for the doors. Everyone finishes quickly and heads off to the doors grabbing their waters and lunches, "good luck shanks" Alby says as the doors start to open, Minho and Ben run in first followed by the rest of us as Newt and I easily over take everyone. "Let's hope the new greenies a girl I could really use the company or better yet I hope it's my brother!" I say smiling as me and Newt run our section of the maze Newt starts to laugh as we keeping checking for anything new to show the way out, "we won't know until we get back this evening love" Newt says as we make a sharp turning, so with that said we continue to make a note on the rout that we're taking.
