Elizabeth woke up to see that Emma was gone. She looked at the digital clock next to her. The clock read: 9:30am. I over slept. She thought. She then got up and walked out of the room. The hallways were empty and quiet. Elizabeth wondered where Emma was, along with everyone else. Minutes later, Elizabeth found her way to the garden. There were flowers everywhere with all kinds of colors. Elizabeth came across a row of roses; she picked one and smelled it. It smelled fresh.
"Are roses your favorite too?" A voice behind her asked. Elizabeth jumped and quickly turned to see Emma's father, John. "Y-Yeah. They are my favorite." Elizabeth replied. The man nodded and then sat down on a little bench. "Why are you here? Why are you in this war?" He asked. "Well, it was my dream to fly, not to fight." Elizabeth replied. John nodded and looked up in the sky. "Do you have a family? Mother? Father?" He asked. Elizabeth looked down at the rose she was holding. "The only family I have are my friends. My father died before I was born, and my mother died later on. I was the only child." Elizabeth replied. John then looked at Elizabeth and smiled. "I'm sure that they loved you very much. And I'm sure that they were both beautiful." Elizabeth looked at him and smiled. John then got up and left to go back inside. Elizabeth decided to go back inside to get dressed into some regular clothes.
After getting dressed, Elizabeth decided to go into the living room. When she arrived, she was shocked to find Emma with a bunch of strangers. Elizabeth peeked in the room and tried to listen in on their conversation. She was unable to make out what they were saying. It didn't take long for Emma to notice her hiding; she invited Elizabeth into the room. Elizabeth was shy around strangers and didn't really want to talk to them. Elizabeth then sat on the couch with Emma and was immediately attacked by questions from one of the strangers. "Are you Mobius 2?! Is this what our enemy looks like?! How old are you?! You're so pretty! Can we marry each other after the war?!" The strange man asked. He went on and on and Elizabeth didn't know what was happening. It didn't take long for another woman to shut him up. Elizabeth caught her breath for a moment. "Everyone, this is my girlfriend, Elizabeth. You already know her as Mobius 2 and an enemy of Erusia. But, Elizabeth. This is the squadron that I command. The man that never shuts up is Ben, call-sign Yellow 5. And the woman that finally made him shut up is Sarah, call-sign Yellow 4." Emma announced. Emma continued, pointing to different people. The people that are here are: Ben, call-sign Yellow 5, Sarah, call-sign Yellow 4, Sam, call-sign Yellow 8, and finally, Finn, call-sign Yellow 10. Elizabeth greeted all of them and so did they. Elizabeth felt strange being around a bunch of enemies, but she felt good. Everyone was smiling and having a great time talking to each other, especially to Elizabeth.
"How did you guys get here?" Elizabeth finally asked. Ben was the first to answer. "Well, Emma called late last night and it turns out that our airbase isn't far away from here." Elizabeth was surprised. Maybe that's how Emma suddenly appeared during the reconnaissance mission. But, if their airbase isn't too far away from here. Does that mean Emma is going to turn me in to the enemy. No, she would never do that. She is my enemy but she is also my lover and friend. She thought. Elizabeth sat for a moment thinking really hard about things. "What was it like going up against our leader?" Ben asked. Elizabeth then looked at Emma and she looked back. "Well, I was scared to tell you the truth. But, I was fascinated by the way she flied. The contrails making lines in the sky, it was complete art." Elizabeth replied. Emma smiled and Elizabeth did the same in return. Everyone else was surprised by her words.
For hours, Elizabeth and Yellow squadron talked. They made jokes and even horse played a little. Everyone was laughing and having a great time, but it didn't take long for them to notice that it was getting late. Elizabeth noticed that they were leaving. "Where are you going? It's only 3:00pm." Elizabeth announced. They all looked at her with smiles. "We have a job to do. Remember? There is a war going on." Ben replied. Elizabeth looked at Emma. "Couldn't they stay? Just for the night?" Elizabeth pleaded. Emma thought for a moment. "What do you guys think?" She asked. "Well, we all could stay but, we have to make approval with the base commander." Ben replied. Elizabeth was happy to hear that they were willing to stay for the night. They all sat down again while Sam went to call their commander for approval. He answered and said a few words; he then put the phone down. He turned to everyone. "Well, we got approval to stay for the night. The commander said that we had a rough time lately so he told us to stay and relax." He said. Everyone was happy, especially Elizabeth. They then continued to talk until it was about dinner time.
Everyone arrived for dinner, even Henry and Isabelle. Isabelle asked a lot of questions to Ben about everything. Elizabeth realized something about the two; they never stop talking. Finn and Sam talked to Emma's parents, while Emma, Elizabeth, and Sarah talked to each other about girl stuff. Henry waited under the table for anything that fell on the ground. Isabelle occasionally gave Henry some food that she didn't want. Elizabeth was happy to be making friends with the enemy; she completely forgot that there was a war going on, and that they were still enemies. It didn't take long for Elizabeth to get tired along with everyone else. Ben picked up Isabelle and gave her to Emma's parents. Emma, Elizabeth, Sam, Sarah, Finn, and Ben went to go find vacant bedrooms. Everyone found their rooms and said goodnight to each other. Emma and Elizabeth got dressed in their nightclothes and then laid down on the bed. Elizabeth pulled herself underneath the covers and so did Emma. Emma moved behind Elizabeth and breathed on her neck. Elizabeth shuddered and Emma softly bit her neck. Elizabeth started to moan. Elizabeth turned her head to be able to kiss Emma. The two passionately kissed for a moment until Elizabeth realized that she needed to use the bathroom. "Um, I forgot to use the bathroom. I'll be right back." Elizabeth whispered. Emma nodded and Elizabeth got out of the bed and walked out of the room into the hallway to find the bathroom. Elizabeth finally found the bathroom and did her business. When she was done, she walked tried to find her way back to the bedroom. Small lights were still on, so she was able to see a few feet down the hallway. Elizabeth was walking down a hallway when, all of the sudden, a bush was walking down the hallway past her. She blinked for a second to make sure she wasn't seeing things. Then, another bush appeared walking past her.
She walked over to the corner and slowly peeked around it. She had a clear view of the bushes. They weren't bushes, they were men dressed up in ghillie suits holding silenced sniper rifles. She didn't know if it was Ben, Sam, or Finn playing around. "Hello?" She called out. The two quickly turned around and ran towards her quickly. One pinned her against the wall, covering her mouth. He looked at her for a moment and recognized her. "Elizabeth?" The man whispered. Elizabeth recognized that voice. She pulled the man's hand off of her mouth and looked at him with concern. "Jordan?" She asked. The man removed the top part of the ghillie suit in order to reveal his face. The other man joined him. It was Jordan and Will, Elizabeth's childhood friends. Elizabeth was happy to se them but she was wondering why they were here. "Why are you here?" She asked. "We're here to rescue you." They both said simultaneously. Elizabeth was happy to be rescued but she was concerned for everyone else. Before she could say anything, Henry found them and started to bark loudly. It wasn't long until everyone in the house came to investigate. Jordan and Will hid Elizabeth between them and aimed their rifles in every direction. Elizabeth told them to stand down but they didn't want to take the chance. Jordan and Will slowly escorted Elizabeth downstairs to the front door still watching everyone closely. Emma came out of the crowd of people and called for Elizabeth. Elizabeth looked at her with a worried look. Emma walked closer to them. Jordan pulled out his silenced pistol and shot at the ground in front of Emma. Emma stopped in her tracks not knowing what to say or do. "Emma, you have to let me go. You have to let me go." Elizabeth pleaded. Emma stood in place for a second. "Why?! It's not fair! I wanted to stay with you, here, forever! Why?! Just why?!" Emma yelled. Elizabeth walked forward but Will stopped her. Elizabeth ordered him to let her go; he listened. Elizabeth continued to walk forward until she came to a stop in front of Emma. The two stared into each others eyes. Elizabeth quickly hugged Emma by surprise. "We're enemies, Emma. You know that. It'll never work, even if the war ends, who knows what the stakes will be when that happens." Elizabeth whispered into her ear. Emma was so surprised that she couldn't say anything. Elizabeth pulled away and walked over to Jordan and Will. They were walking out of the front door when Elizabeth turned to see Emma crying.
She left without saying goodbye.
