After walking for hours, Emma and Elizabeth finally found an abandoned house. It didn't look so bad on the outside nor inside. Everything was left behind including food and drinks. They both settled down. Emma looked around to find anything interesting or useful. Elizabeth just went upstairs and found an empty room to be alone in. Elizabeth lied on the bed holding Dante's helmet. She started crying again. She cried so much that she didn't notice Emma watching her. Emma then looked away and started to walk down the stairs. Emma just sat in the kitchen listening to the faint cries from upstairs. It went on for hours.
Elizabeth woke up thinking that she was back home with her mom. But, she then realized that she was still in the abandoned house with Emma. She then decided to look around the room. She noticed the closet and decided to take a look. When she opened the door, there were a bunch of women's clothing. They had dust all over them but Elizabeth found a nightgown that fit her perfectly. She noticed that something smelled good downstairs. She went to investigate the delicious smell. She peeked in the kitchen to see Emma cooking something. It looks like Emma found some pajamas to wear too. Emma noticed Elizabeth peeking so she offered Elizabeth the food. It was some sort of soup.
Elizabeth cautiously walked towards the table and sat down. She looked at the soup; it looked good and smelled good, but she was afraid of what was in it. Emma then made her bowl and sat down at the table. Emma started to eat. Elizabeth started to eat too, carefully watching Emma. There was nothing but the noise of spoons hitting the bowls and the trees swaying in the wind outside. "Your friend. What was his name?" Emma asked. "Dante... he was Mobius 3." Elizabeth responded. "What made you join this war? Why are you here?" Emma asked. Elizabeth sat in thought for a moment. "Well I... I didn't join because of the war. The only reason I joined and why I'm here is because it was my dream to fly not to fight." Elizabeth responded. Emma sat in thought as well. Elizabeth continued. "My father died before I was born and all I had was my mother. We had no other children; it was just me, the only child. After flight school, my mother died of illness. She looked a lot like me. She had short brown hair with brown eyes and pale skin." Emma still sat in silence. Emma then decided to put her bowl away and walked into the living room and sat on the couch. Elizabeth did the same with her bowl and she walked upstairs to go to her room. The two lied in thought before sleep overwhelmed them.
The next day...
Elizabeth woke to see it was morning. She almost jumped when she saw Emma sleeping in a chair. Elizabeth didn't know why Emma was there but she didn't care. Elizabeth decided not to get dressed but instead, snuck downstairs to go outside to get some fresh air. Birds were chirping and there were a few butterflies and squirrels here and there. Elizabeth walked aimlessly until she came across a big spring. The water looked alright and it was warm too. Elizabeth looked around to make sure she was alone and she then took off her nightgown. The water was nice and relaxing. She sat in the water for a while until she finally decided to head back to the house. When she got up out of the water, her nightgown missing. "What the...?" She said aloud. Elizabeth looked around until she saw it. A ferret grabbed a hold of her nightgown and started prancing off with it. Elizabeth yelled and ran after it. The little ferret kept dodging Elizabeth until she finally caught it. "Give it back you little asshole!" She yelled. She let the ferret run free and checked to see if there was any rips on it. She then turned around to see Emma standing a few feet away from her. Elizabeth's heart sank deep inside her. They both just stared at each other. Elizabeth blushed bright red and quickly threw her nightgown on. "What the hell! Look away at least!" Elizabeth yelled. Emma then responded. "Well, we are both women. What's the problem with me seeing you naked?" Elizabeth then looked at her with anger. "We may be women but we are enemies!" Elizabeth replied. "Are we enemies?" Emma replied back. Elizabeth didn't want to talk anymore; she just wanted to go back to the house.
Upon arriving at the house, breakfast was already made. It was pancakes. Elizabeth sat in silence. "You should put on some regular clothes and pack-up some stuff. The reason being is because we are leaving to a little town nearby. Keep everything hidden. We don't want to attract attention." Emma ordered. Elizabeth had no choice. She was deep in enemy territory, miles deep. They were to leave soon, so she had to get ready fast.
Minutes later...
Everything was packed and they were ready to go. They then left the house and started walking up a dirt trail. Elizabeth never noticed this little trail. After reaching the end of the trail, there was a tiny little garage with a little car just sitting in it. The car looked old but surprisingly, Emma was able to find its key and was able to start it up. Elizabeth sat in the passenger seat and buckled her seatbelt. Emma pulled out of the garage and onto a rocky, dirt road. It seemed like forever until they finally reached a regular road. Throughout the trip, there weren't any cars on the road. It was just them. Elizabeth started to get tired and started to fall asleep. She tried really hard to stay awake but sleep finally overwhelmed her. She then went into a deep sleep.
