You trudged behind the vampire, envious of his ability to float. Your feet were throbbing with pain, "Marshall, where exactly are we going?"

He laughed, turning to face you while he continued to float backwards towards your destination, "Why? Is the big, strong warrior already tired? I thought you guys were tougher than this."

You gritted your teeth, your eye twitching slightly in irritation, "I never said I was tired, we've just been walking through this forest for what feels like hours and it doesn't feel like we've gone anywhere."

He smiled at you, "Nice dodge there," he winked at you, causing you to send him a look of disgust, "don't worry, doll, we're almost there."

You huffed at the nickname he called you, deciding it would be best to ignore it, "That didn't answer my question...!"

You felt the ground leave from beneath you as you were lifted into the sky, eliciting a small scream from you. The trees below you grew smaller as you two steadily climbed into the sky.

You squirmed in his grasp, uncomfortable with both his closeness to you, and the height which he held you at, "Put me down, Marshall Lee!"

"Nah," he chuckled lightheartedly, his grip on you tightening a bit so you wouldn't fall. He began to fly forward at a rather rapid speed while carrying you, "besides, you were just complaining about being tired, and it'll be faster this way!"

You stopped struggling for a moment. He was right, you were just complaining about being tired earlier, but that was mostly to annoy him which clearly hadn't worked. You hadn't planned on him picking you up, but much to your dislike, there wasn't a thing you could do about it. Sighing and giving in, you stopped struggling and just allowed him to carry you, knowing full well that a fall from this height would kill you, should he accidentally drop you.

You huffed a bit, brushing your (h/c) hair from your face to see where he was taking you, "Well, can you at least tell me what this mission of yours is? We've come all this way and I still know nothing about it!"

He looked around him in mock suspicion before returning his gaze forward again, "I can't tell you right now, someone may be listening in."

You sighed, irritation clear in your voice, "Like who? The trees?"

He laughed at your irritated remark, but didn't offer you another reply, much to your dismay.

The flight was silent after that conversation, seeing that no amount of pushing would get him to confess any information. You were broken from your thoughts when he gently placed you down in front of a run-down looking house. You wondered briefly if it belonged to him, and why he would live in the middle of the forest.

"Welcome to my humble abode," he bowed in front of you, causing you to roll your eyes at his behavior, "why don't you come on in? It's the only place no one can spy on us!"

You growled a bit, not at all wanting to enter the vampire's house, "Fine, let's just get this mission over with."

He chuckled at your response and followed you in, shutting the door behind him. You looked around his home, refusing to admit to yourself that it actually looked rather cozy. You stomped over to the couch, sitting down with a huff, before shooting straight back up, earning a fit of laughs from The Vampire King.

You growled at him, his laughter angering you, "What is this thing? A rock?"

Marshall Lee shrugged, coming down from his laughing fit, "Maybe it is, maybe it isn't! I never sit on it anyways, it's just for show, honestly," he flew over to it and stopped, hovering just above it in a sitting position.

"Well, where should I sit then?"

He seemed to be lost in thought for a moment before his gaze turned to you, a playful glint appearing in them. He patted his lap a bit, "You can sit in my lap, it's probably much more comfortable than any of the furniture in here."

"Never," you spat, trying to stop the blush that occurred after such an implication, "I'd rather die."

He smiled in amusement at your reaction as he leaned back a bit into a more relaxed position, "Suit yourself, doll."

You looked away from him, allowing some of your hair to fall in your face to cover the blush that you were trying to make disappear, "Just tell me what you brought me here for..."

"Well that's an easy one," he smiled, moving closer to you like he was about to tell you an important secret, "I'm bored."

You blinked for a moment, unsure if what you just heard was real or not, "What?"

"It gets so boring around here," Marshall sighed, floating away from you in a leisurely manner, "no one to talk to, nothing to do! I figured some company might be nice."

You glared at him, incredulity and anger clear in your gaze, "You brought me all the way out here just to..." you searched your mind for the right word, "hang out with you? Seriously?"

Marshall nodded as if the information he just shared was common sense, "Well duh. Besides, maybe this mission will teach you to lighten up a bit."

You stormed over to him, "You're joking me right? I'm an adventurer, not an entertainer!"

Marshall sighed, hovering upside down in front of you, "Fine, let's go on an adventure then!"

You were about to protest when he grabbed you again like he had in the forest, taking off with you to who knows where. You growled in frustration, wishing you had just refused this mission to begin with, as you allowed him to carry you off to his destination.
