chpt 1: new girl

hi im courtney and this is my story of my time at the sandlot.

i was walking down the road while i was exploring my new neighbourhood and i went down this road that lead to a sandlot and i saw a group of boys playing baseball but i just kept on walking and i saw a cheerleading tryouts, i got really excited and put my name down because i was cheer captain at my old school and so i knew i had a good chance of getting in but its a good thing that the tryouts are in 3 days so i get get prepared.

I AM SO EXCITED i have been practicing non stop i have been practicing my backhand springs my needles and my scorpions. ok its my turn to tryout and i have a good feeling. AHHHHHHH i got in the first practise is tomorrow and so i have to get a good night sleep. I woke up and pu my cheer uniform on and it felt so good to be in it and went across the sandlot to the oval were we practise on and i saw the group of boys again and noticed that thie boy that was batting hit the ball really fast "watch out!" one of the boys yelled out but then i felt the ball hit my on the bead and i was out.

"do you think shes ok" one of the boys asked "im not sure it doesnt look like shes moving" another boy answered "ow" i said groaning " are you ok" one boy asked "yeah it just hurts" "oh im so sorry" the boy said guilty " no its fine" " ok well whats your name" "Courtney.... and what yours" "well im benny, hamilton porter we call him ham, michael palledorous we call squints, alan mclennan call him yeah yeah, kenny denunez, bertram grover weeks, timmy timmons and his brother tommy timmons" after the finished i started to get up but fell back down again " ok you need some help" benny said as he was picked me up and took me to the dug out and laid me down and i fell asleep .

Bennys pov

As she laid there asleep i couldnt help but look at her, she looked so peaceful

" benny stop looking at courtney and focus' squints said

"ooooohh bennys got a crush on courtney" said yeah yeah

"DO NOT lets just play on" i yelled but the fact is im sure if i did like her or not because she was one of the most beautiful girls i ever seen and i noticed she was wearing a cheer uniform so she must be a cheerleader but then she probably just missed her practice but im kinda glad she did because if she didnt we wouldnt of met but i hope shell come again and thats its not just a one time thing oh well she probably wouldnt like me back anyway so who cares.

Courtneys pov

that was so nice of benny to let me stay and hes so strong and i over heard the boys say he has a crush on me but i cant believe that even if i might have a crush on him i cant let anybody know cause if they do thell telll benny and it would be so awkward so i think i might just sneek out and go to practice since im really late i hope they understand.

OMG i nearly got kicked off the squad but because i had a bruise on my head for proof they let me stay but if anything happens again i will deffinatly get kicked off so i got to be really careful.

UHHHH my parents are so annoying they are getting a divorce and blaming every one of there fights on me so im packing my bags and leaving i dont know where im gonna go but as long as its away from here. i just started walking and ended up at the sandlot so i went behind the dug out and used my bag as a pillow and fell asleep almost instintly.

i was woken up bu the sound of talking and saw that all the boys were here and playing baseball and i didnt want to disturb them so i went to the oval for cheer practise but changed in the bathroom across the oval but when i got our the boys noticed me

"courtney" benny yelled trying to get my attention but i just pretended that i didnt hear them and just kept walking. and 5 6 7 8 the group lifted me up into the air and i did my scorpion then went back down and we finished our routine, after everbody left i stayed back and just went to the sandlot and thought where i should go until i just fell asleep at the dugout. "wake up" a guy said nudging me "who are you" i asked "phillips and your courtney" "yes what do you want" i asked curiously "i want you to be on our team and ditch those loser sandlot gang" she said rudely "and why would i do that" i snapped back "do you want to join now" he said punching my stomach and i groan in pain and fell to the ground "no" i said making him more angry "how about now" he said kicking my stomach but thank god just then benny and the boys arrived and the spotted me on the ground with phillips and his gang around me.

Bennys POV

we got to the sandlot and i saw phillips and his possy around courtney who was on the ground looking like she was hurt

"PHILLIPS!!" I scream and his and his possy ran to their bike and rode away as fast as they can leaving courtney on the ground

"courtney are you ok" i asked helping her sit up "OW!!" she said and when i looked down i saw her tummy was all bruised so i picked her up bridal style and laid her down at the dug out

"courtney what happened" everybody asked "well i was sleeping in the dug out when phillips woke me up and tried to get me to ditch you guys and come to his team but i said no so he punched me in the stomach and said how about now i said no so he kicked me" she explained i felt so sorry for her but i still couldnt stop thinking her everyday she never leaves my head.
