Toby was in the east hallway, he had crept this way and had suffered minimal amounts of interference from the zombies. He gently walked up to the door to the nurses office and pushed on the door, It didn't open, he pushed harder. He kept on pushing harder and harder until he heard a whisper from the other side of the door.
"Hey, let me in, I have wounded, we are hurt and we need your help" the whispering stopped. He looked around and spotted the remains of a firecracker on the ground. he turned back to the door, the Falcons must have been here. Then he remembered something, he had seen the Falcons wearing wooden armor probably made in would shop, and the nurses office Is right across the hall from the wood shop room. He knocked on the door again.
"Listen up, we have your man, we can help you if you help us, food for medical equipment" Toby yelled. The door opened to a small young woman and a figure curled up in the corner, "What do you want" the woman demand shoving a spear similar to the one that had been plunged thru Casey. Toby grabbed the spear slowly, "I just want to help, we're going to take over the Falcons as soon as we can, but your little stunt has wounded one or ours" he said. She lowered her spear and signaled to the figure who was curled up. The man was up in a flash and moved with lightning speed, He was 6 ft tall and put his huge hand around Toby's throat, but the girl put her hand on his shoulder and he let go.
"we're going with him" she said, and before Toby could correct her, she threw a backpack made from multiple bags tied together. "this is all we have."
"...Uck, man, that hurts" Casey exclaimed as I removed the bandage for the fourth time and put some hand sanitizer on the outskirts of his wound. It was the closet we had to rubbing alcohol. I re-wrapped him and tied the arms closed again, He put his head against the head rest me and Sara had made for him. The prisoner was quite helpful actually, he talked and talked about the Falcons and where they were from and where there armor would be weak. I Put my hand on his head. He had a fever.
"Hey, open the doors" came Toby's voice. The group opened the doors to him but gathered around his compatriots. "Shit, that guy needs Help" exclaimed the girl who came in with Toby, "I have some training, My dad is a surgeon and my mom is a doctor, I can treat him with whats in the bag, but I'm going to need less attention" She said, looking Dakota dead in the eye's as he pointed the nailed baseball bat. I nodded at him and she ran to Casey's side, I helped her remove my crude bandage, she sterilized the wound with rubbing alcohol, and then placed on some fresh gauze and bandaging. I threw my bloody coat arms in the trash.
Casey was asleep on the inner table as we got to know the new group. Matt, who was still tied up, was the fighter of the group, ex football player and the man who stabbed Casey. Abby was the girl who had treated Casey's wound and she seemed a little shaken by all of this. The big brooding man was Alexander, he was smart and capable of faking emotions he did not have, he was also Abby's twin brother.
We were fine for the weeks that followed, It was Three weeks, six days, and 23 hours after the fact when things went to shit.
