People came in droves to the library so that we were able to set up a permanent hold on the office, and the hallway connecting them, we walked safe as guards armed with all sorts of weapons and merchants armed with merchandise lined the halls. It was Sara, Mitch and I walking down the hall to do the daily announcements. Mitch and Sara had gotten close, any fool could see were that was going, but they seemed totally oblivious to it themselves. I always did daily announcements, but they asked if they could come, Sara hadn't left the Library since the apocalypse started and wanted to explore, and Mitch wanted to stay with her. I stopped and pointed them to the cafeteria, "that, the hall, and the Library are all Safe-Zone territory, don't leave the border" I said.
Safe-Zone was the name the leaders of all the groups who came to join us decided we should call the joint territory, and we ran the largest part. Aside from us, the Home Economics and public pool, as well as the hall that connects them, is the second and only other Safe-Zone territory. People who run between them have become few and far between, but Casey had gotten good at it as well as Dakota, although they never went together.
I entered the office and found Toby reclined in one of the chairs, we ran the announcements together. Dakota had just left us an envelope detailing the other Safe-Zone territory's news. Casey figured out how to rig the system to only announce to our territories.
"Good evening Safe-Zone residents, today we have an update on the other half. they have made some good efforts on securing a hall route between us that would make trade a lot easier" I said.
"Runners have spotted increasing signs of Falcon activity out side of our borders, and are looking into increasing security, if you feel you can contribute more than what you do, then please sign up at the office. Also, the Counsel of Faction Leaders is having a meeting in the library later Today, I know me and Riley will be their" Toby said.
While we gave announcements, Mitch talked to Sara about their overlapping areas of interest. Movies and Books they both read. and then they sat their. looking in the distance. Her head fell on his shoulder and she soon fell asleep.
