Chapter 8

Thomas' POV

Riiiiiinnnng!!! I walked down the hallway, looking for Michaela. Alexis was right. I do need to find out if she was one of us. My parents would flip if they found out I liked a normal girl.

I turned the corner to find Michaela talking to her friends Bridget and Jessie. Bridget was one of the smartest girls here. She was also the kindest person there, other than Michaela. Jessie was the sports girl. She's the one who was a tomboy. She was also the team captain of almost every single sport.

"So I was like, come one! We need to win this! Bam! What?!" Jessie shouted. "Uh Jessie, can you please keep it down people are staring," Bridget complained. "Uh, you're on your phone. You're not looking around the room." "Oh I know. But from last experience I bet they are." Jessie frowned. "You're no fun."

I just watched as they left school. I'm gonna turn into a stalker aren't I? That's when they went to the beach. They each had their bathing suits on already. They then ran into the water. I watched. They never resurfaced. I started to panic. What if she wasn't a mermaid, she could've downed! But she may be a mermaid though.

I kept watching. Luckily I saw the three of them resurface. That's when I noticed, nothing really changed. That's when I walked up closer. I sighed relieved. Their hair color changed and their eyes were different color. I walked away. Thinking of what to do.

Brenna's POV

I swam further into the ocean. I was probably going 50 miles per hour. "Ugh! How far away is the city?!" I said to myself. I was going to the coral reef city. It was the closest city to my home.

When I finally arrived, I swam straight to the library. When I went in, I went to the section, 'Magic and Spells.' I looked through a book called, "Ancient Spells." I finally found a section on the mermaid's kiss. It said about how it's used and what it does. When I finally thought I memorized it, I put the book back, and I swam out of the library.

When I got back home, I called Alexis. "Hey Alexis, come over. I need to tell you something." I then started to walk away. I sat on my knees picking my stuff up. Then I felt a hand on my neck and mouth. I then blacked out.

I came off the boat and put a note right where she was. I smiled and jumped back onto the boat.
