A Mermaid's Kiss II: The Other Story

Chapter 3

Brenna's POV

I woke up and looked around. Alexis wasn't in bed. I went downstairs and found her eating cereal. "Sup," I said as I got a bowl out and got some cereal too. "Hey girl. Why are you up at 7?" I didn't even bother checking the time. Oh well. I shrugged and ate the cereal.

After breakfast, we got into our bathing suits for our morning swim. We walked out of the house and went to our beach. We swam for about two hours. We went to the coral reef the whole time. When we got back to shore, we decided to just hang out at Alexis' place.

When we got there, everyone was already eating breakfast. We just went to Alexis' room. "So whatcha wanna do?" I asked as I laid down on her bed. "Well, we just went for a swim. And it's too early for lunch. How about we look for Brandon and Ryan?!" Alexis squeaked. I frowned at her. "No," was all I could say. Alexis did a pouting face and just sat on the ground. "Well, what can we do?"

We just sat there doing nothing. That's when Mack bursted through the door. "Brenna!" she shouted. "What is it Mackenzie?" It's your brother. He's missing!" "WHAT?!" The three of us immediately ran to my place.

----- AT BRENNA'S HOUSE -----

When I reached the house, there was a police car. I immediately ran into the house and found my mom crying while my dad was trying to tell the cops everything while trying to sooth my mom. "What's going on?" I asked. "Um. Brenna, this is Officer Jacobs. He is going to look for your brother," my dad said. "Where do you think Chris is?" I asked. "Well, he did go for a swim this morning at 6. He hasn't been back since," my dad explained. "Alexis and I went swimming two hours ago. We didn't see him," I said.

"I know where he is," I heard Katie say. "Why didn't you tell us?!" my mom yelled. "Because you kept saying 'Katie stay out of this!' Geez!" Katie replied. "So where is he?" He went to the ocean. To use the you know what," Katie said. I had no idea what she was talking about, but my parents were wide eyed. "He said he wasn't coming back until school started," Katie added, "He was to scared to tell you guys." "Well I'll look for your son to tell him you're worried. Until then, take care," Officer Jacobs said, and he left.

"Mom. Can you guys tell me the story now?" I asked.
