*The Next Morning*

Momma got us up, dressed us, making sure that we were warm, gave us each our own backpack, before heading to the clearing where we'd be facing the Volturi. We all stood in silence waiting for them to come. The wolves all fell in behind us, making me feel a bit better, but I was still uneasy about this. Who wouldn't be? We were all sentenced to death, unless we were able to convince the Volturi that my sister and I were harmless, that we wouldn't hurt anyone. We could keep the secret that everyone else had been keeping.

I shifted all my weight to one side anxiously, my heart beating abnormally as I seen them break through the trees. All of them were dressed alike, except for one. A blonde woman. The same blonde woman that I'd seen that day watching us. The one who put everyone I loved in this situation. She stared at me horrified, then turned away slowly. I growled lowly and my mother scolded me.

"Genna, what're you doing?" She asked, in a low tone, making me feel ashamed for the growl.

"But Momma, she's the reason we're here. She's the reason that people might die.." I whispered, and her eyes softened.

"Honey, I know, but she's also family. She didn't know. She thought you were immortal children, but you're not. Everything's gonna be fine." Momma said, placing her hand on my shoulder, pushing me behind my father. I clenched my fists, holding onto his jacket tightly.

"Daddy.." I whispered, though I wasn't sure he heard me, until he looked down at me. "I'm scared.." He sighed and gave me a reassuring smile.

"Don't be. You and your sister are safe. I won't let anything happen to you. No one will." He whispered, as the Volturi fell in line.

"Aro, let's discuss this like we used to. Civalized." Granpa, walked forward.

"Fair words, Carlisle. Given the battalion you've assembled against me." His voice was filled with venom, and Grandpa shook his head.

"It was never intended." His voice was pleading. "They are not immortal!" He shouted. "These witnesses can testify to that."

"I'd like to speak with someone closer to the problem. Edward? As these children cling to your newborn mate." Aro smiled devilishly.

Daddy took my hand and walked me over to Momma, before walking towards the Volturi. I watched mom concentrate as she shielded my father.

"Momma..." Her face softened as she looked at me. "I'm scared.." I whispered clinging to her leg. "I want Uncle Em." I murmured, looking back.
"Emmett." Momma said quietly. I watched as he stalked up to the front, picking me up, and holding me close.

"Its okay, baby girl." He said quietly. "Nobody is gonna hurt you." He murmured. "I won't let them."

"I'm scared..." I could see everyone's eyes on me. They were curious.

"I'd like to meet them." Aro said looking at my sister, and then to me.

"C'mon baby." Momma picked up, Nessie, and started walking across the wide clearing. I clung to Uncle Emmett, followed by Jacob.

We stood in front of the Volturi, and I watched as his face lit up. He cackled loudly, and I flinched away. "I can hear their strange hearts!"

Ness walked forward, and I concentrated on Aro's thoughts.

"Hello Aro." Ness said quietly. He held out his hand, but she just pressed her hand to his cheek. His eyes went wide for a moment, and then she pulled her hand away.

"Half Mortal! Half immortal, carried and conceived by this, newborn while she was still human." Aro said, as we made our way back to the other side of the clearing.
