Baron
"What have you done!?" I scream in horror, confusion, and fear. Callie's body stands in front of me but her expression is dark and her voice belongs to Talikai.
"Instead of fighting you both why don't I just destroy you with the person you love." She had a devilish grin on her face and threw her fist at me. It hit my cheek and I flew backwards on to the floor. Shock paralyzed me as I watched her step forward and pick me up by my shirt collar.
"You have gotten in my way far too often Baron. So I will have a fun time making this as painful as possible."
She throws me across the balcony and my body slams against the building walls and I collapse on the floor in pain. Just as I get to my knees she stands next to me and kicks me in the stomach. I clutch my stomach and groan as she repeatedly continues to kick me.
"Please... Stop." I manage. She pulls me up to my feet and punches me in the stomach and when I bend over from pain she knees my head.
My head throbbing and my body stinging everywhere she throws me again to the other end of the balcony. I look up to see her walking towards me but she stops halfway. She has a look of confusion and she grips her head. All of a sudden she lets out a scream and falls to one knee.
"Stop!" Talikai's voice shouts. She screams again.
"Argh! Baron!" I hear Callie's voice return I lift myself up on my elbow in hopefulness.
"Callie?" I say.
"I can't control him. He's going to kill you." She screams again and an evil grin appears back on her face.
"You stupid, foolish kids! Have you learned nothing? You cannot beat me!" She takes one step towards me but then falls back on the ground, this time she writhes around like she is being tortured. She lets out another scream and I can't help but get closer to help but there is nothing I can do. She is on her own.
"Baron I can't do this!" She says with her own voice.
"You have to! Find a way to defeat him!" I shout back.
She continues to writhe and shout in pain and eventually she looks over to one of the guards lying on the floor of the balcony. She struggles to get to her feet and she rushes over to him. I can only watch in horror as she grabs a knife from his belt and raises it up. She looks me directly in the eyes and says, "I'm sorry."
She brings down the knife and plunges it into her stomach, and screaming in pain rips it back out again.
"You idiot!" Talikai's voice screams.
"CALLIE!" I rush over to her as her body collapses to the ground. I kneel next to her. "No, no, no, no, no..." I try and apply pressure to stop the bleeding but she groans in pain since the wound is too severe. I bring her head on to my lap.
"Callie?"
"I didn't have a choice. He was going to..."
"I know, I know, don't talk your going to make it worse."
"He's gone now though. You don't have to worry about him from now on."
"We don't have to worry about him. Your going to make it, you have to make it. What about all the things you promised. You wanted to make the city a better place. You still have so much to do." I start to choke up and she brings her hand up to mine.
"You have to do it for me. I know you can."
"No, no I can't do it with out you."
"You have to." Her breathing becomes erratic and her eyes begin to close. She lets out a small laugh. "This is just like when we first met. Remember? I woke up and punched you?"
"I would rather have you punch me than leave me. Please."
"It's too late, there was no other choice. It'll be okay. This was for the best."
"Callie! Please! Don't leave me!" Her breathing stops and her eyes close. "You can't leave me." I whisper as I bring my head down to her forehead.
