"Do you believe in angels?" the teacher asked.

Camila raised her hand enthusiastically, her hand suspended in air and waving at her teacher.

"Yes Karla" the teacher said.

"Yes Miss, I always believed in angels. My Mami said that we all had angels that was sent from heaven to protect us especially little girls like me." She said happily, clapping both her hands.

"It's good to know that you believed in them Karla." Ms. Lopez said smiling.

The teacher explained that angels were sent from heaven to expelled bad dreams and that children like them will not suffer from horror.

The teacher encouraged them to find a partner and gave them two boxes of clay each so that they could create their own dream. Dreams that they envisioned themselves when they grew up.

"Hi" the young boy greeted.

"Hi" Camila said shyly as she adjusted her glasses. She had a very poor eye sight in a very young age.

"I'm Austin and you are?"

"I'm Karla." Camila replied as everyone call her in her first name at school.

"Okay now that were partners, what do you want to build first?" The boy asked. He has blue eyes and Camila thought that he was actually cute.

"Uhm, I don't know. I haven't really thought about it." Camila said looking downward and straight at the floor.

The boy chuckles as he got some clay and mold it like a human.

"This is me!" He exclaimed

"You should also do another one just like this but put a longer hair so it can be you" he added.

"I don't really know how to." She replied quietly.

"It's easy I'll help you" Austin encourage her.

The boy showed her how to effectively mold the clay in his little hands. They added details to each other's clay figure. They laughed when they created a disfigured dog.

"Can you help me do one more like this?" Camila pointed to the sculpted figure of a human.

"Yeah sure" the boy said quickly.

He started making the body and Camila also took some clay in her own and put it on the desk as she carefully shaped and carved some details.

"What's that?" Austin asked

"Her wings" Camila said as she looked up to meet the boy's gazed.

"Okay" Austin replied and nodded.

Camila placed the wings on the back slowly.

The boy was Camila's first friend in her young life. She was really shy to talk to other kids and most of the time she was made fun of because of her skinny physique.

The class ended and Austin agreed that she should take home their project and he made his way out of the room to find his parents. Camila was left alone as she carefully lift the board where they had put their clay project.

On the hallway as she passed by, a group of older kids were loitering. They spotted the small girl carrying the clay figures that she and Austin made.

The group that was consist of young boys and girls surrounded Camila they move around her to intimidate the young girl.

They bumped her repeatedly until she dropped the clay to the floor. She was devastated when she saw that their project was wrecked. As tears form in her eyes, one of the boys snatched her glasses. Her vision got blurred and she was once more bumped. This time she tumbled down on the floor. They laughed at her profusely, some of them hit her on the head and the others threw her the ruined clay. They mocked her repeatedly calling her names.

As Camila cried and held her knees to her chest tightly she realized that a blinding light engulfed her and a defining silence. No more kids that's laughing towards her and no one's hitting her anymore.

"Open your eyes" she heard as a female voice said, she thought.

Camila opened her eyes and notice that everything was on a perfect place and the group of the older student's was gone.

She found her glasses on top of her bag and the clay figures were built the same way earlier.

She got confused on what had happened. She stood up slowly and looked at her surrounding, silently checking if the other students were still there and just waiting to bully her again.

When she realized that everything was okay and that she was safe. She walked towards the school double door and looked for her parents.

She sat quietly on the stairs as she thought on what just happened.

It was a miracle she thought.
