Love oo ~ HappyRosey1
Do you know what it's like to be different? I mean really different. Compared to everyone else, you are seen or thought of as a monster and no one understands you. I'm guessing not. I grew up knowing that I would end up being different from the rest of the others. Lucky for me, I new how. I just did. Because I'm immortal.
It's not quite the same as you might think of it. Yeh, we basically live for ever and that, but we all have unique powers. Yes we. There aren't that many of us left though. I'm from another planet, but sadly as a baby, it was destroyed. 10 of us were sent to the planet Earth. We look the same as humans, but we're different.
We all have to be very weary, the could see us at any moment when we are not looking. As soon as they lay eyes on one of us, they will kill us. By they, I don't mean humans, I mean the Halkiman. They are from another universe and are desttoring more and more planets as the go along, making sure that every living thing in it, or used to live on it, is dead. Hence why 10 of us were brought to the planet Earth.
I roughly remember my home planet, but my memory is still very vivid on that part. This all happened 186 years ago. I'm probably over 190 years old. You loose track of age after a while when you're like me. Which only means we've been hiding for years now, but as time goes by, not everyone is safe or still here.
So far, 3 of us have died. The way I know this? We all got given a neclace that is shaped as a circle but split into 10 sections. Each section representing one of us. When one of us dies or gets killed, it changes a colour from silver to black.
My name is Amanda Black. But it doesn't always stay like this. Sometimes I have to change it when the Halkiman get close to my location. It's the name I usually like to keep but I keep to myself. You see, I can't trust anyone.
Anyway, at the moment I am sitting in the same old math class. Each year, I move to a different country to get a different location but also different school. We immortals stop ageing at the age of 18, so it's important I stay at school. One reason it, to keep me busy. The other... I'm not so sure. When I'm not at school I-
"So Rachel, can you please answer this question for me?" As Mrs Hattfield glares at me. "-5(X+4)=70". By the way, my new name is Rachel. What? I like it.
Really? I've been in the same year for over 150 years. This is simple, could she not give me one any easier, I mean this is for like year 9s.
"-5x = 90 if you times the -5 with the X and times the -5 with 4 which is -20. Then you minus -20 from 70 which is -90. Them you-"
"Yeh yeh. We get it clever clogs. You're sooo clever that you need to show the whole class that you can do a simple equation" as Silvia interrupted me as she ran her hand through her hair. I swear to god that she thinks she's the queen bee. I try to stay on everyone's good side and our of everyone's way, but there's always one person who watches close. She can be such a- wait a minute. My necklace is glowing. No. It can't be.
"Rachel, are you even listening to me?" Oops. I didn't realise Mrs Hattfield was talking to me.
"Please can I go to the loo miss?" I didn't really have to go. It's just one of those moments when you want to get out of a room with a 'valid' excuse.
"If you must." With those words, I ran out. You know how before I said that when one of us have died the necklace changes colour? Well, the process is agony. I know it's only a necklace, but it's a part of us.
I ran to the toilets, washed my face with cold water and run to the cubicle. I sat on the toilet lid and held the necklace tightly close to my chest. The pain... Indescribable. It heats up and can easily burn your skin. But being me, the burn goes with in a day so you don't see the mark left behind.
I was probably there for about half an hour when it finally cooled down. Don't worry about the teachers, they never really care anyway.
I took a long glimpse at the necklace and saw the change in colour.
"Just great. Now I have to go again".
