Chapter 3 ~ School... Ugh

Well, here goes nothing. I walked up the stairs of my crappy wooden house, swung my rucksack over my shoulder and left the house with zero hesitation.

School was the same all the time. Just like the last one, and the one before that... You get the motto. So anyway, it means I'm always the new kid. But not the kind that got bullied. Hidden in the background more like and skipping most days saying I'm ill or I have this incurable disease and that I'm going to die of cancer, so all the schools I've been to think in dead. Oops...

As I opened the grand doors to the school, all eyes turned to me. I walked down the corridor, head held high, making sure that some stupid 17 year old wasn't knocking my confidence down. I walked down the the headmasters office and gently knocked on the door. A pretty lady opened the door for me,

"Ahh, you must be Miss Scott. A pleasure to meet you", a warm low voice answered in the background. Like the name Scott huh? Yeh, it's got a. I've ring to it.

"Likewise. I'm here to collect my timetable?" I hated doing all the 'get to know student thing' with the head masters. They're all so boring.

"Oh... Yes. Your first period will started in room 109, biology. I hope to see you around school." Yeah... I don't think so. With that bold spot on your head, I don't think you're going to get very far.

"Sure..." And with that, I walked with class, out of the head masters study.

Now, room 109. Room 106, 107, 108, 109! I twisted the door knob to the room and I could hear the teacher call out James, probably reading out the register. I walked up to the front of the class room and stood beside the teachers desk, hoping that she had noticed me by now.

"Dylan and George. Hello there, you must be Charlotte Scott?" As she looked up and down at me.

"Oh yeah, you can call me Charlie."

"Well Charlie. It's a pleasure to have you join the class. Would you like to take a seat there next to Jade?" No. Not the front of the classroom. That's where all the clever people sit.

"Um... Could I please sit someone else. No the front." I tried saying in a polite voice. Not often did teachers let you choose your seat.

She narrowed her eyes at me and looked at the back. As I turned round to walk in the direction she was looking at, she said,

"Be careful with that one. He's pretty quiet, so if you ever want to move back to the front again, just ask". I carried on walking and plonked myself next to a broad, quiet guy. Not really sure what else to say. First impressions? Nah, not so good with him.

"Ok students, please get your textbooks out to have 327". I bent down to pick up me rucksack and plinked the text book onto my desk. I looked to my left to wear the guy was sitting.

"Do I know you from somewhere!" I asked him as if I knew wear he was from. I swear I had seen him before.

"Look, no one remembers who I am. Plus you're new. What makes you think that you would know who I am". He replied in his husky deep voice, turning to look at me.

"Sorry dude. Take a chill pill. I didn't mean to get on your nerves so easily. I just though I recognised you from somewhere". Trying to reassure him that I wasn't a stalker or anything.

"It's ok." He looks back at his work and started writing down the answers.

I kept turning to look at him. Maybe he was from another school back in L.A. or Paris? No. I couldn't really tell from his accent either. This was a challenge.

"You're that kid from the forest!" I suddenly shouted over the teachers voice, pointing at the boy and quickly covered my mouth in embarrassment.

"Is there something you would like to share with the class Charlie?" As the teacher slowly crossed her arms over her chest, just being able to cross them properly because she had the big ones...

"No miss. Sorry miss." I quickly apologised and looked back at my work. The teacher turned back to the board and continued to explain more about whatever she was talking about.

The boy next to me looked at me deep in the eye in disbelief. I'm sure is was just as shocked as I was to find out that it was him.

"I don't know what you're talking about." As his head fell a little back to his work.

"You know exactly what I'm talking about. Remember yesterday afternoon, you were sitting on a branch and suddenly fell like 38ft down to the ground and didn't even stumble!" As I shouted in exiting in a whispering voice.

"Look, you have no idea what you're talking about. Whatever it was, the person want me." As he lifted his head back up to look me in the eye showing no emotion in the way he spoke.

"Well I know what I saw." As I looked at him with a very stern look across my face.

With that, the bell suddenly rang and it was time for the next period.

"Ok student. Please finish off page 329 for homework and I'll see you on Wednesday." I picked up my books, threw them into my racks I k and stormed out of the classroom.

I stood, waiting outside the classroom when I heard us footsteps coming closer. As he took one step out of the classroom, I grabbed his collar and shoved him to the side of the lockers.

"Would you just tell me already, I'm not that stupid, now how did you do that!" I needed answers. There was something I didn't know about here.

He looked down at me with his large dark brown eyes, holding this arrogant but sexy look on his face. Before I knew it, I was being picked up and thrown into the janitors closet.

It was dark, and cold. I tried to feel the wall for a light switch, which I suddenly feel this warm breath at th back of my neck. I quickly spun around and was grabbed by the arms.

"Look, I don't know how you saw me last night, but it shouldn't have happened." What did he mean by it shouldn't have happened? By that time, he started reciting some random words.

"Et omne quod factum est in alieno viginti quatuor-" Wait a second!

"Stop!" It was suddenly quiet. Too quiet. His grip tightened but I pulled them back. I heard this breathe of astonishment exit his mouth.

"I know what you are, you can stop the big act now." Let's just hope I was right.

I held his hand and communicated by mind and said, are you immortal too?

I waited for a couple of seconds, but got nothing back. I was wrong. Now I had to change school again, run even further away and-

          Yes. I am immortal.
