Ava's POV
Beep. Beep. Beep. Beep. What the hell is that annoying sound? And why is it dark? Let me see if I can find a light. Shit! Why can't I move?
Beep. Beep. Beep. Will someone shut that noise up?! Wait I can feel someone's hand on mine. Who's hand is this? I try my best to open my eyes.

'Come on Ava' I think to myself. 'Just open your e-' my thoughts are cut off by  a voice, I know this voice!

"Hey Ava, I really hope you wake up soon. I'm so sorry that this ever happened to you. We've been through so much and now this!" It's Armery! But why is she crying? Why can't I move? Why can't I see her?
"Hello Armery, is there a parent or guardian around that I can speak to about your sisters current condition?" Who the heck is that? What condition?
"No, it's just me. Anything you have to say, any new information on her, you can tell me." Armery states harshly. She's stopped crying now, which is good.
"Alright, unfortunately Avary has been in this coma for......"
I stopped listening. I'm in a coma?! No, no, no, I've gotta wake up. 'Come on brain! You can do it.' Oh god, please help me! I can't leave my sisters alone. God please wake me up! 'Ok Ava, try to blink your eyes.' Blink. Blink. Blink. Open! Oh my god my eyes are open! I see Armery in the chair next to me. She's crying even harder than before. Ok Ava, let's try to move your left arm. Twitch. Twitch. Tw..move! It moved!
I touch Armery's arm and she jumps, looking up at me from her palms.
"YOU'RE AWAKE!!! Doctor! Doctor! She's awake! Someone come please!" She screams, crying. I grab her hand and hold it as tight as I know how right now.
Doctors and nurses come flying in rushing to both sides, and I lose Armery's hand. The doctors take out their flashlight and flash them in eyes and all over my face. Pulling back the cover they check my legs and feet.

"Ca..can some..one ex..ex..explain what happen to me?" I ask, stuttering and slurring a bit.
"First can you tell me your first name, last name and date of birth?" The doctor to my far left asks.
"A..Avary Tomas. May 12, 1996." I tell them. They ask a few more questions before answering mine.
"Okay Avary, to answer your question, you were shot, twice in the back. The bullets were extremely close to your spine and you bled a lot but we were able to stop the bleeding and get you into surgery as quick as possible. You've been in a coma for the past 4 weeks. We almost thought you wouldn't come back to us." He tries to joke, I just half smile. "Unfortunately, we do not believe you will be walking again in the near future." He explains.
"Wait so, y..you don't tink I'll walk again anyt..time s..soon?" I repeat.
"That is correct." The doctor nods his head once.
"And y..yoou didn't ex..expect for me to wake up out of my c...coma either did you? Or p..p..pull through surgery, correct? Listen d..doc, my name is Ava, I..I h..have been through h..hell and back. I wil..will walk sooner than you expect f..f..or me to." I say, or at least tried to. I look around at all the doctors and nurses in the room and they've all got smiles on their faces and as much determination in their hearts for me as I do.

I finally gaze over at my sister who is at a loss for words.
"A..Armey." I stutter out. "I..I will ne..ever leave y..you." I say to her as best as I can. She just cries more and I would too if I wasn't in so much pain.
Armery was just about to respond, when I had a shooting pain up my back that made me arch my back in a way the doctors didn't think I would. I screamed out in pain "S..STOP!" I cried, hoping they would understand I wanted them to make the pain stop.
They started saying medications and coming to the sides of my bed, rushing Armery out of the way.

About an hour later, everything was out of control and they explain I was having back spasms. Apparently when I arched my back, one of my stitches broke so I had to get them replaced.

As I'm laying in the bed talking to Armery, the hospital door bursts open and TJ is right there.

Tears were streaming down his face as he walked to my bedside.

"Oh ba..baby, d...d..don't cry. I'm o..k." I try to explain to him. Armery excuses herself, I guess for us to talk.
"You, Avary, are the love of my life. I thought I lost you." He explains. "I don't know how I would've lived without you by my side." He cries.

I reach out and run my fingers thru his hair.
"I w..won't lea..ve you babe." I stutter out to him. He tried his best to smile up at me. And as I'm running my fingers thru his hair I see something shiny on my finger.

"W..what? W..what is this?" I stare at the ring in awe. He gives me a confused look.
"You don't remember?" I proposed to you on your birthday, right before-" he cuts himself off.

"N..no?" I say confused as I start shaking uncontrollably, then I blackout.

Beep. Beep. Beep. Beep. What. The. Fuck? What is that noise again? I open my eyes slowly and look to the left. It's this damn machine.
"Baby?" My head snaps to the right, oh it's TJ! I smile at him and try to speak but my throat feels raw. I put my hand up to my throat.
"You want some water?" He asks quietly, and I nod. He takes the remote thing next to me and presses a button, I guess to signal a nurse.

A nurse comes in pretty swiftly, and she notices that I'm awake. She's gorgeous, her eyebrows are amazing and she's got a nice brown skin tone. She's about 5'5 and has long black hair. She looks to be in about her mid 20s.

"Well hello there Ms. Ava." She greets me with a beautiful smile. She looks really sleepy though once she gets closer. I smile at her. "Let me check your vitals and we can get you some water." She explains and I nod.

Checking my vitals took about 8 minutes total and then she told me she'll be back with my water. I look around the room for Armery.

I look over at TJ and he read my mind.
"She just walked downstairs to grab something to eat from the cafe." He says brushing the hair out of my face and I nod.

The nurse walks back in the room with water and pills. "The pills are painkillers." She says after looking at my scrunched up face. I take the pills and throw them back, before taking a large gulp of water.

"Thank you." I speak with a raspy voice. They look at me confused.
"Ok hon, let me go grab a doctor and we will explain everything."

I nod and wait. 2 minutes later a flood of doctors come into the room, flashlights in my eyes, pulling back the cover, examining me all over. I feel a bit uncomfortable.

They pull the cover back and one doctor speaks up. "Hello, can you tell me your name please?" She says, looking closely at my face, while everyone else is examining my body still.
"Avary Tomas." I say with a raspy voice. They look baffled. And they continue to ask a series of questions that I answer. My throat hurts again so I sip my water.

"Alright Avary, you had a seizure due to the medications you were given. They are now listed on your medical chart." She explains and I nod in understanding.

The doctors start leaving out and police come in right behind them.

Dear god, please don't let me get arrested today.

"Avary Tomas, ma'am I'm afraid you're gonna need to go into the Witness Protection Program." He states.
"Oh god, so you guys haven't caught the asshole that did this to me?" I say sad and angry at the same time.
"No ma'am, that's why you've got to go into the Witness Protection Program." He says again in the same stupid tone!

Before I can respond again, TJ jumps in.
"Yes sir, we understand. When do we leave?" He asks.
"Now."

My mouth drops and I can't even think right now, so I lay back down under the covers and let TJ handle this guy.

5 minutes later, Armery walks in and sees all the cops. I see her look at me as if to ask 'you didn't do anything illegal again, did you?' I shake my head at her and just basically tell her to listen.

"Excuse me, am I also going away into what do you call it? Hiding?" Armery asks, I shake my head.
"That is correct ma'am, you two are in great danger, there's a hit man out for you ladies from your kidnappers." He says and I cringe.

Welp, looks like I won't be going 'home' home for a long time.
