Unexpected

"You have to pack a toiletry bag full of medication just in case anything goes wrong while you're away. Don't forget your language translation dictionary and make sure you have all of the emergency contacts written in a safe place; not the back of your hand."

"Mum you act like I'm going to die as soon as I step foot into a country. Don't over react."

"I guess you're right Louis. I'm just a little paranoid. What if I don't get my little boy back and I found out that something terrible has happened? I don't want that to ever happen."

"Well I can assure you that under the University's watch, nothing will go wrong." I say, pulling her in for a hug. Her eyes start to produce tears and before you know it, my sleeve is soaked with 'em. "It'll be over before you know it, and I'll be back home sooner than you think."

She hugs me back tightly and I don't have the. heart to move. Instead, I continue to express how excited I am to be traveling all around the world on the study abroad trip. Basically what it is is that for an entire year, we will travel to 10 countries and it will be up to us to decide where we will study next year.

My hopes are that I get to study close to home, but a little bit further away than my mom thinks...Delhi, India. There's something about India that makes it seem so interesting. The culture and customs all seem so interesting and it would be cool to get away from England. Imagine just living near the Taj Mahal, looking over the Indian Ocean, eating all the spicy curried meats, and just being able to escape from life in the fast lane.

As I continue my rant on how it would be cool to live in one of the countries and my mom trying to convince me not to, the doorbell rings. I race down the steps to find my Advisory teacher waiting at the door.

"Hey Louis! You're the last person we had to pick up so when you're ready we can head to the airport." says Daniel with a huge smile on his face.

"Sure! Let me just grab my luggage and I'll be ready." I look up the stairs to see my mother struggling with the suitcase and I laugh as I grab it from her. She continues to make her way down the steps as I hand my belongings to Daniel to load onto the bus.

"Im going to miss you, Lou."

"I'll miss you too mum." I say a little more quieter, pulling her into a sympathetic hug. "I promise that I'll be back in one piece before you know it."

She giggles and sends me out the door waving as I make my way to the bus.

"Yeooo bro! What's up?" I hear the most familiar voice as I walk to the back of the bus.

"Hey Niall! Man, Im so fucking excited! Aren't you?"

"HELL NO! My parents forced me on the trip since they were gonna be outta town. I was gonna stay back and throw some parties while I was alone but nooooo, I'm here on a bus full of smart asses." he says in annoyance.

"But hey! I got my best bud here with me!" he retaliates raising his hand in need of a high five.

I give it to him and laugh at his attempt to make me not feel offended. I pull out my phone and start dialing. I hope she answers even though it is 8 in the morning on a Saturday.

"Hello?" she says, her voice sounding as if she hasn't even gotten out of bed.

"Hey babe!"

"Hey Lou, why are you calling me so early?"

Did she really forget? I've been telling her about this trip since forever.

"Ummm...it's because I'm going away for the entire year on the school trip...remember? I was telling you all about it last night." I wonder if she realizes the disappointment in my voice."OHHH! Shit! I thought that was later in the day! Why so early?"

"Don't ask me, ask Jesus!" I say with a laugh at the end."Well, is this the only goodbye that I'll be getting? I mean like you're going away for an entire year and I won't be able to see you anytime!"

"Don't worry. We always have Skype and Facetime. I can call and text you and I can always inbox you if anything happens." I say assuring her. "I guess that's fine. I'm just not sure about a long distance relationship."

"Neither do I but we'll figure it out later. I gotta go babe. Love you"

"Ughh I love you too."

"Was that Jennifer? NO wait! It's Sally! Or is it--" Harry says before I cut him off. "It was Cristine you idiot!" We both laugh and as Harry takes the seat next to me, Liam and some girl makes their way to us.

"Heyyy! Long time no see Liam!" I tell him.

"Yea I Know. I've just been at home. One of my Family's close friend had died so we stayed for the week. That's where I met Sophia." he said gesturing towards the model type girl. "She was my friend when I was younger and I got to see her last week!"

"So you guys are together? Is that what I'm hearing, Payne?"

We turn around to see none other than the last of the crew, Zayn Malik aka Mr.Badman.

"Looks like you got more tattoos and piercings." Liam says in response. "And yes. Sophia is my girlfriend...so back off!!"

"Just because she's with you doesn't mean she can't get with me."

"OKAY OKAY!!! Save this for when we get back!" Harry yells at the two of them.

"Everyone get in your seats! We're off to the airport. First stop; India. Who's excited?" Exclaims Daniel.
