Unexpected

Chapter 4

8 Hours later

We finally landed in India! The airport is so different from ours in England. It's so crowded and HOT! I immediately unzip my sweater and pack it into my back pack. It's a good thing I was wearing a tank instead of a short sleeve shirt.

"Well kids, we're in India! We'll be staying her for a month and we'll be studying at The University of Delhi. There you will be studying with some of the other students. Now, I don't have any rules but I do expect you guys to be on your best behavior....I would like for the students next year to go on this trip so don't mess it up for them."

Daniel seems to be overreacting. I mean what could we possibly do to get into trouble? It's not like we have any intentions of getting in trouble to the point where we get locked up.

"Unfortunately we won't be taking a bus to the university. We're in India so we'll take their transportation. Pair up in threes and we'll leave."

I grabbed the two closest people to me; Harry and his little crush, Vanity. When Harry realizes who I grabbed as the other person, his face turned red with embarrassment and it was hilarious.

"Hey Vani! How was the flight?" I ask trying to be nice.

"It was fine, I slept the entire ride."

"Same here...what ever happened to this Vanity?:

"What do you mean?"

"Lately you've been oddly quiet...what's up?"

"Lou...I gotta tell you something." She says and pulls me away from the group.

"Okay...so it's actually two things."

"Okay, continue."

"One, I somewhat have a crush on your friend...the curly haired one. That's why I've been quiet, I didn't want to embarrass myself in front of him. I realized that you're his closest friend and I wanted to know if you could --"

"YES!!! Oh my God he likes you too!"

"He does?!?! I thought he wouldn't like me because I'm a geek."

"Nahh. He is always talking about how smart you are and how he loves you to the max."

"Do you think you can, you know, hook us up?" She asks nervously.

"Now that I can't do. I told Harry to try to ask you out himself and he may do it on this trip....just be patient."

"Well thanks! I'm so excited!!!"

We join the group after our convo just as we were going to leave the airport. We head outside to find rickshaws waiting outside for our class. I'm not so sure about this.

"Everyone hop in and let's get going. They already know the address so when you all are ready, they'll leave." Daniel says rushing his words.

Vani, Harry, and I were the first to leave after Dan. As we're riding, I feel as if I'm going to die before my third year at college. The ride is so bumpy and windy to the point that Vani kept curling into Harry's side. I know for a fact he's gonna get her.

After what seemed like forever, we reach the University. It's quite large and stunning. As we all gather together, the welcoming committee shows up through the doors. So many of them.

Then...

...I saw her.
