" Is it even?" I asked, closing the shop bathroom door. He nodded before looking at me. When he did look up, I feel like I had something on my face. The weight of his eyes on me made me nervous and began messing with my new short bleached hair. He took a step closer and tucked a strand behind my ear. He was so close my skin prickled.
"It's perfect." He said with a ghost of a smile. " No one is looking for a blonde."
And with that, he walked away leaving me to follow him out the shop. The sky had turned from a deep blue to a light violet since I was last out. People were slowly going back inside and front door lights lit the ever darkening scene.
"The station isn't close. We should hurry." I nodded and he started to run up the street. I followed him and soon realized I was probably in good shape. I could keep up with him just fine. Clyde must be pacing himself because otherwise with his height advantage I could never normally keep up this easily. The time seemed to fly by as we crossed the river into a city like area. More shops and restaurants appeared and the brick houses seemed to be left behind. I could feel the cold sweat on my neck soak my jacket. Clyde had found the thin green thing for me in a lost and found box earlier. We finally stopped outside an arcutical sculpture building. It was if giant yellow cubes were balanced on top of the train station on their corners. It was magical. We walked into an alley and from a pocket on his leg, he pulled out a thin gold chain.
"What's that?"
" An Anaor." He took out a blade and cut the chain in half like it was butter. By Magic each piece grew twice the size. He grabbed my hand and I stole it back. " listen I need to put this on your wrist. It will you make you invisible." He could tell by the look on my face I wasn't buying it. "You need to trust me." I didn't trust him. I told myself I should, that all he's done is help me, but something in my gut said to be careful. I raised my hand and he places the Anaor on my wrist. It connected to itself making it one continuous chain.
"Look!" He asked pointing behind me. I turn to look as a sharp pain stung on my hand.
"Ouch, What was that for?" He had cut me on the top of my hand. Blood spilled out but instead of dripping down it went up my arm and to the bracelet.
"For The Anaor to work it need to be connected to the user and the user's family."
I studied the bracelet again, On its side in a swirling script The blood spelt Melrose. What the hell is this.
"Now cut my finger" I took the knife from him and did as I was told. Shoving the knife back into his boot he took my hand, this time in his. We ran to the platform and walked onto the car, nobody noticing us as went. Sitting on the floor in a nosie car wasn't what I pictured but we could talk and no one would notice.
"So I was thinking" I started shifting to face cylde.
"We'll that's not very good. Why would you ever do that?" He teased earning a punch in the arm from me.
" Ha. Ha. Anyway, if I'm changing everything can't I change my name?"

"I suppose so. What did you have in mine?"

"I think I remember my full name being Adelheid so, Heidi would fit. I don't really like Adele. "

"Okay well, Heidi, welcome to being a fugitive"
