An Upcoming Letter on the Way

I’m running late, again, this morning.

A month ago, I had a friend who always woke me up right with the sun, to begin the day as we ate breakfast in my kitchen, waiting for Ian to come over and head ourselves to the school. Today I can’t help but wake up late by myself, now that Antonio has a lot of work to do from the training he does in the mornings for the football team. Plus, I’ve stayed a bit later at the station trying to make improvements to the talk-show now that I’m leaving since my contract stated that I would only stay for a couple of weeks and they apparently take everything textual.

Um, don’t worry, they said I was one of the best children they could get and they were happy to have me, but they need to make better schedules before they re-contract me, so my audience is actually meant for teenagers instead of old men. Anyways, tonight I’m being paid and I’ll be finally free from working on the Starbucks too! It also means that I’ll have all the money needed for my mother’s school!

Back to my morning late arrival to my class, I barely made it to my Sociology class. Ian didn’t come to pick me up this morning because Antonio asked him some help for the training today. I just hope he’s okay from it, since Chris would be there too, but I guess they just needed him because he’s one of the best Physics student the school has. Weird enough, I’m one of the worst.

“Why, hello Miss. La Rue. We were worried you couldn’t make it but thankfully you could join us, right?” exclaims with a sweet tone Ms. Jameson, taking a look at me as she leaves her chair to greet me, which I have to admit scares me to death. “I want to make an experiment, so I asked one of my fellow mates from high school to join us today with his class, so I was wondering if you could please greet them from me. I need to organize the class first” she says looking at the chaos in the classroom and rolling her eyes “and it will most likely take more than a few minutes. So, take your team out and please entertain the students from Greece.”

Ms. Jameson leaves then, going back to her seat and I walk fast to my usual chair, where Chad and Lea are waiting for me. They both look surprised when I explain to them the mission ahead, but once I get them out of the classroom, both look happy to leave.

“This is great, you know? Greece is one of the best schools from Quaintstone and it’s quite interesting to meet the other campus from the town!” exclaims innocently Lea.

“Someone’s quite excited,” comments Chad as we turn to the left.

“You think?” is my response. I still dislike her, but I cannot help but laugh at her innocence. I hate to admit it, but it rather suits her.

As we walk to the exit doors, I see a familiar face waving at us. Is none other than Sarah, who talks happily with a beautiful tall black girl. I wonder if she's a cheerleader or something, though that idea seems weird because the black haired one is more of a tomboy.

We head ourselves to the teacher, standing with a book in hand, as his class waits excited for us to say the instructions.

"Mr. Jackson?" I ask the blond dude with astonishing steel gray eyes. He nods. "Um, I'm sorry but Ms. Jameson said she would get a little bit late. The classroom was a bit too disorganized when we entered."

"Thanks for telling me, we'll wait anyways." he smiles.

I had decided to go back to the classroom but Sarah doesn't let me because then my arm is wrapped around her fingers and she smiles eagerly.

"So we'll have a class together, huh?" she exclaims as the girl she was talking to before nears us.

"Yeah, I think" I shrug.
