Six People Takes to Ruin a Perfect First Day
Knock.
I'm too asleep to care about that noise coming from my right.
Knock.
Five minutes more of sleep, please...
Knock.
With all the hate of the world, I let an eye open and see a blurry figure throwing smaller ones at me. I blink twice before my gaze turns back to normal and I see a note pasted on Antonio's window: "Ready to go?" it says. I grin. Of course I am.
I search for my cell phone and send him a message: "Of course I'm ready. But we better hurry up or we'll get late." His reply is "Ok. C U @ the bus stop." What a show-off. He's probably been ready for a long time and is going to the bus stop right now, just to scold me for getting up late. Again.
You see, even thought we go to different schools, it's the same bus we get in everyday. Ah, yeah... You are probably wondering why we didn’t go to the same school until now if we live almost together and are the best friends. Well, that didn't use to be like that all the time. We used to go to the same school until he got a football scholarship for Robert Hannigan High School. It was a good place until they started to make "improvements": art started to be less important for them and sports became the only thing that mattered to the principal Mayer, because he was winning a fortune out of it. Antonio tried to fight it, to make things with justice, but he failed and he annoyed the principal. I warned him not to do anything stupid, but Antonio still did what he thought would make the principal quit his plan. Well, it worked, but it ended on him losing his scholarship and forbidden to play football anymore. Therefore, I convinced him to join my school, Carolina Greece High School. Since I am very good at convincing people into doing favours to me, after the many things I do for them, I got him in very easily. Now he's an eagle instead of a stallion. Moreover, he's still his last school's hero.
"Riley! Are you ready?" shouts my mother from the other side of the door, "Antonio is waiting for you and Ian called. He said he'll come to pick you to get to the bus stop," she informs me.
"Almost!" I reply, running to my closet to get freshly clean clothes and brushing my hair with my fingers. I pick the ones I bought in the mall with Antonio, and a brown leather jacket to keep me from the cold. My purple bag has been ready with the notebooks and books I'll need for over a month, so I just have to pick it. Then I rush myself downstairs to find Antonio and my mother talking politely while having breakfast. I sit along in the kitchen's table.
"Morning, sleepy" he greets me. "Was your night a good one?"
"Yeah, totally" I reply. "I love to sleep," I say, taking a plate. I serve myself a sausage, some eggs and a fork. I am ready to eat, but just then, the bell rings.
"I'll take it" says Antonio, standing up to open the door. It's Ian the one who appears behind the door, grinning as excitedly as I feel. This, I realize, is the first time they see each other after so many years, but it's the first time they'll speak to each other. Ian has a new hairstyle: it is shorter and up, the common boy-ish hairstyle.
It suits him. His brown hair finally leaves space for his white forehead to show up and I can see his thin brown eyebrows. This hairstyle makes his green eyes show more and with the gray hoodie and black shirt, they look more intense.
Now, Antonio wears the green T- shirt he bought, a pair of jeans and a black jacket that go well with his black Toms. They both look handsome, though, unbelievably, Ian is taller than Antonio for about an inch is. However, Antonio is much hotter.
