The New Teammate

Chapter 2

Shana's pov:

I woke up in my bed when master called for me. I quickly jumped up and put on my costume and walked out to master. I got on one knee again and said "yes master" he didn't say anything for a moment before saying "because of your failure you will not eat for 2 weeksI sighed and replied with "yes master" and walked out to change my bandages because they started leaking through my costume. When I was done I went to my room and changed into one of my spare costumes and went to train. I'm not allowed outside so when I have free time I train. I climbed up the ladder and jumped on the trapeze and started doing flips from one bar to the other and using my wings to propel me even higher. after an hour I stop and move to the training simulator. After 3 hours of the training simulator I head to my room to sleep

1 week is over but I still have one more week before I can eat anything and I have nothing to do so I go to master and ask if I can go out to town for a while and he said "yes but don't forget your shades and hide you wings in the jacket I made for you". For the first time since I was 6 I was happy. Happy that for once I was allowed outside of the lair's walls and experience all the American things I didn't get to experience. I got changed into my civilian clothes which consisted of a plain orange hoodie that was made specially to hide my wings and a pair of dark blue jeans with my dark shades on and walked around Gotham City. I have never seen Gotham in broad daylight before so everything was new to me. I was walking around when I passed a bakery and then my stomach growled I walked in and realized that I didn't have any money and I don't want to be punished again for eating when I still have to go another week without eating so just walked back out the door. When I started walking down the sidewalk again I bumped into someone and before I feel on my but I flipped and gracefully landed on my feet. I then looked to see who I bumped into. I bumped into a group of friends who looked to be about 2-3 years older than me. I realized that I bumped into them and quickly started apologizing and helping the kid off the ground. He had a pair of dark shades and a hoodie on like me. I looked at him for a moment and started apologizing "I am so sorry are you ok, gosh I am so clumsy I really need to watch where I am going, are you hurt because I don't know what I would do with myself if I had hurt you" and I kept rambling until the one with bright orange hair said " chill he is fine this wasn't your fault just take a deep breathe and calm down sweetheart" I did as I was told and then said "ok ok I'm good so are you ok" I asked the boy with the shades he just chuckled at me and replied with "yes I am ok my name is Rick and these are my friends Conner, Walley, Megan,Artimis, and Kaldur what's your name" "my name is.........Shana it's nice to meet you" I replied and all of a sudden my stomach growled and everyone looked at me. Conner then spoke up and said "are you hungry Shana" everyone looked at me expecting me to say yes but I remembered I'm not allowed to eat for 2 weeks so I replied with "no I am not hungry" they looked at me like I was crazy and I turned around and started walking the other direction and hoped they wouldn't follow me but I turn around and there they are running up to me calling my name. I started running away from them. After an hour of running away from them I finally lost them and went back to master. When I got there master called me in so I quickly changed and went to go see master I walked in go on one knee and said "what do you need master" "you have another mission go to Wayne tech and get this micro chip for me" he said with his voice filled with no emotion "yes master and this time I will not fail you" I replied and walked to my room to get my Sword and knives

Dick's pov:

After Shana was able to ditch us we all decided to go to Mount Justice and talk about it with our real names. Superboy looked at me and said "why did you tell her your name was Rick and not robin?" I sighed and said" well if someone made the connection between a kid showing up that looked like me without the concealment and said his name was Robin so I made up the name Rick" I replied with a smirk on my face. Everyone went silent again until I spoke up "why do you guys think Shana ran from us???" Kid Flash spoke up next "yeah she looked scared when we asked if she was hungry" M'gann spoke next "i would have looked into her mind but then she would have felt me and it's wrong to go inside people minds without permission" Aqualad then took a turn to speak "I feel like she was hiding something from us" Superboy spoke next "she dressed like you dress but even more concealed" I realized that Superboy was right "yeah Superboy your right she had on a plain orange hoodie with the hood up and a pair of dark blue jeans and a pair of dark tinted shades" I said and everyone soon nodded in agreement. We all just sat there in silence for a while after the conversation until red tornado came in and said "team Batman has a mission for you" we all looked at each other and heading to the lounge of the mountain
