Chapter 9

I was sitting on the balcony, looking at the beautiful mountains and sun rise in the background. When suddenly I heard someone open my door. I already knew who it was. Pagan...

Pagan: "Enjoying the view, dear?"

I chuckled and grinned.

Me: "Yes. It's gorgeous."

He sat down next to me and enjoyed the view with me.

He put his arm around me and pulled me closer to his side and I rested my head on his shoulder.

But suddenly I remembered something. I wanted to ask Pagan about Lakshmana. I've heard Ajay talking about wanting to spread his mother's ashes there. But no one really knows what or where it is. And since Pagan is the King of Kyrat he would probably know.

Me: "Hey Pagan. Can I ask you... something...?"

Pagan: "Of coarse, darling. You already know that you can ask me anything~"

Me: "Well.... do you know what Lakshmana is? Or where it is? Ajay said he wants to spread his mother's ashes there but I don't even know what it is. And he doesn't either. So.... do you know what it is?"

His eyes darkened and he looked angry, like he wanted to hurt me for asking that.

Me: "...P-Pagan?"

Pagan: *sighs* "Lakshmana was my daughter. She died at the age of two..."

~Pagan had a child!? But with who!?!?!~

Me: "Who was the mother?" My hands were shaking as I talked. I was scared that he might hurt me. He looks super pissed.

Pagan: "Ajay's mother, Ishwari, was the mother."

Wait what?!

Me: "....Are you Ajay's father???"

Pagan: "No! I'm only the father of Lakshmana. Not Ajay. Mohan Ghale is his father."

I think I've heard the name 'Mohan Ghale' before. I think I've heard some locals talking about him and how he's the founder of the Golden Path.

Me: "So what happened between you and Ishwari?"

Pagan: "Well, Mohan sent her to spy on me and collect information from me but instead we ended up falling in love. And we had Lakshmana together. And when she turned two Mohan killed her. And Ishwari killed Mohan, and Ishwari fled Kyrat with Ajay on her hip. After she left I was a mess. I was such an angry young man at the time. But I soon realized that I was only using Lakshmana's death and Ishwari's disappearance as an excuse to do whatever I wanted to do."

Me: "Wow. I'm so sorry that happened to you Pagan. If I would've known then I wouldn't have brought it up."

Pagan: "It's fine, dear. You didn't know. But just try to not bring it up again please. I don't really like talking about it."

Me: "I promise to never talk about it again."

Pagan: "I really do miss Ishwari. I loved her so much."

His words made me actually feel jealous and upset at the same time.

Pagan: "But I've fallen in love with someone else it seems..."

Pagan stroked my hair and I noticed how his eyes were now full of love and care.

Pagan: "Holly Snow, I love you. And I hope I don't lose you like I lost Ishwari. I just couldn't live with myself knowing that something bad happened to you."

Me: "I love you too Pagan. I didn't expect to run into someone like you when coming back to Kyrat. Coming back here is the greatest decision I've ever made. And don't worry nothing bad is gonna happen to me. As long as I'm with you, nothing will hurt me."

He hugged me gently and made me feel so secure.

It was like a dream come true to be with Pagan. Nothing could ruin this moment....
