I woke up to the best day of the week. Saturday. I didn’t have a dream nor did I have a nightmare. What a week, I thought to myself. Axel and I are pissed off at each other, I encounter an angel and I think I fell in love with a hot guy named Christian even though we’ve only met like once.

I could hear the crackles of bacon cooking and the smell of eggs. This is first Dad’s cooking me breakfast. I hopped out in bed not even bothering to have a shower like I always do and ran downstairs and sat on the kitchen bench staring at Dad like a happy child. “Someone’s in awfully good mood,” said Dad.

“Because somebody is making an awesome breakfast for his awesome daughter,” I beamed. Dad shook his head in disbelief and placed my breakfast on the table. The smell of my breakfast was really orgasmic and I could feel my eyes roll back at the smell of it. I looked at my plate and found that something was missing. As if he was reading my mind, Dad placed barbeque sauce on the table with a glass of apple juice. “You just read my mind,” I smiled.

Dad laughed at me and shakes his head. I didn’t really care; my stomach was up for a surprise.

About 15 minutes later I could barely walk as I was full. Dad still laughed at me while he watching the Rugby World Cup. What is it with you men and sports? I mean I love sports but I rather play the sports than watch with my ass down the couch.

It’s Saturday and I should go out but then this is Dad’s day off from killing people from that wretched list. He would be upset if I just left him but then he will feel guilty because I’m stuck with him over the weekend.

“Dad,” I started as I sat on the couch next to him.

“Okay you got that ‘look’ on. What do you want?” he asked.

“Uh you see its Saturday. And um I want to go out with a new friend with mine,” I said still putting the ‘look’ on that always made Dad guilty.

“A friend eh? Is he your boyfriend?” Dad said narrowing his eyebrows at me.

“No! God no! She’s a new best friend. Her name is Hope,” I yelled. Damn know he knows of her.

“You got a new friend. Well that’s great for you,” Dad smiled. I managed to bring a smile on my lips but my eyes lied.

Okay I’m sort of a loner at school as well. I do know people it’s just I think they find me weird. I just like to keep to myself that’s all. But like a give a shit. I have a demon and angel best friend. But with Axel I still don’t know if we are best friends anymore. Jeez, I sound like a nut case.

“Okay you can go out with your friend. But you have to introduce me to her later,” he said as he got up. WHAT? I don’t know if he can tell people if they are angels. I know that he knows that Axel is a demon but he’s never complained about Axel. Whether or not he is a demon my Dad counted him as a friend of mine. Okay what did I just get myself into?

“Yeah sure Dad,” I mumbled. But how the hell am I supposed to find Hope. She is an angel after all.

Not knowing what to do, I decided to change into some nicer clothes and by nicer clothes I mean a Led Zeppelin rock t-shirt, with plain jeans and a pair of green converse shoes. I looked at the mirror once more and was no way in the mood to put make up on.

I went to the back of the shed and started looking for my bike. There was no way in hell I was going to go in a bus and make conversation with random people. Looking around the shed I realised Dad hasn’t been here in a while. There were cobwebs covering most of the ceiling and that most of the stuff in the shed was covered in dust. I came across a lot of old things like my old Barbie house and her faded pink convertible. To think I use to play with those things when I was little. I observed the cute convertible and saw a bit of paper coming out of the boot of the car.
