I was sitting down on the couch watching Axel and Hope argue down at each other throats. I was starting to think, why isn’t there any supernatural stuff going on? I mean there’s a demon and an angel right there arguing but they sound like a normal human couple their inhuman beauty says different.
“You’re so ugly not even God thinks you’re pretty,” Axel yelled.
“Go to Hell,” hissed Hope.
“And the angel makes a comeback. Oh yeah,” he said his voice filled with sarcasm and also acting as if he was ‘Duff Man’ from ‘The Simpsons.’
“Axel I think you should leave,” I said, trying to calm the atmos23phere around the place. But he wouldn’t listen to me, not even Hope. It was also weird seeing her upset especially when she’s always happy and beaming with light.
“Why should I leave? That’s what your father’s good at,” he yelled, raising his arms in the air.
“What does my father got to do with this?” I asked confused.
“Well he did kill your mother after all,” he yelled.
“What?” I stiffened. “Are you saying? That Dad–Mom? What?” I saw a flicker in his eyes and later it was consumed with regret. But then I thought how can a demon have feelings? Better yet, how can a demon he be best friends with a human? At least I think I’m human.
“You’re lying,” I growled at him. He started walking to the front door but I beat him to it and grabbed his shirt, clenching it with my fist. “Look at me on the eyes and tell me, you’re lying!” I growled louder looking him full in eye contact.
“Let go of me. I will hurt you if I have to,” he hissed under his breath.
“I thought we were friends,” I said quietly loosening my grip on him.
“Well you should of thought about that when you replaced me with that bitch,” he muttered, looking down at me. Axel left then, the same way Dad got out. I sighed heavily while turning back at Hope her face filled with pity not sadness.
“What a night,” I shrugged. She nodded in agreement but she paced herself around the room.
“Megan you do know that I know when people lie,” she started, sounding so serious. Okay, what happened to the happy and forever smiling angel?
“But–I don’t understand,” I said.
“I also can tell when demons lie as well,” she continued.
“Where are you going with this exactly?” I raised my eyebrows.
“I’m just saying that Axel wasn’t lying about your father and...” her voice trailed off.
“But he didn’t tell me the whole truth. Did he?” I said not surprised.
“No,” her angelic voice echoing across the whole entire room.
“I thought so,” I nodded.
“Where are you going?” she asked.
“I’m going to bed. Is that alright with you? I said annoyed. I saw Hope rolled her eyes as I was walking upstairs. Who is she criticise my life? Tomorrow will be different.
