the very next morning at eight sharp, jungkook received a text from taehyung. hey! if you're up now, you can come over! was what it read, jungkook typing away on his phone shortly after. okay! i'll be there soon! jungkook sent in return, rushing to pull some fresh clothes on before he left. his mother had him up since six in the morning doing some more work around the house, so by now his clothes werent the cleanest. he pulled on a dark sweatshirt and navy blue jeans before leaving the house.
jungkooks camera hung around his neck as he walked to taehyungs home, which wasnt very far from his own as it turns out. when he arrived, a small girl pulled the door open. her hair was up in two pigtails, and she had on a bright pink dress, jungkook thought she couldnt be older than maybe five. "tae! your friend is here!" she called behind her into the house, her small voice raising as she did so. jungkook stood in the doorway, and smiled lightly at the little girl, who returned it with a wide smile that looked almost identical to taehyungs.
taehyung appeared only a few seconds later, smiling warmly at jungkook and gesturing him inside, before shooing his little sister away. taehyung reached over for his notebook and pencil, jotting something down quickly. we can go upstairs to my room, i left the dye in there and theres a bathroom in there too. is what he wrote, smiling lightly to jungkook as he motioned for him to follow him up the stairway. jungkook followed closely behind taehyung all the way up, pondering on when the right time to bring up the whole never talking thing.
taehyungs house was neat and it smelled nice, family photos hung on the walls of taehyung and what seemed to be his mother and father along with two younger siblings, one being the girl jungkook met downstairs and the other a little boy. the photos made jungkook smile. i'll apply as much as i can to my hair, but i might need you to help with the back of my head, is that okay? taehyung wrote down, showing it to jungkook shortly after. jungkook nodded quickly and watched taehyung get to work on opening the silver dye and applying it.
jungkook helped as much as he could with the places taehyung couldnt quite get very well, and used his phone to time the half an hour taehyung had to leave it in before washing. when he finished, taehyung looked like a superhero you read about in comic books. his hair was a striking silver, making him somehow look tougher thank his pink hair had. jungkook told him that he loved it, and taehyung blushed a bright shade of red and wrote down a quick thank you. "could we go outside for the photos, i think the backdrop would be better." jungkook said, watching taehyung nod in agreement.
taehyung conveniently had on a long sleeved blue shirt, which tied in well with the winter themed photos they were taking that day. jungkook had taehyung smile for a couple shots, and other ones of him just walking around and not facing the camera at all. jungkook couldnt decide which ones were his favorite. "okay, i think i got some good ones!" jungkook said after a good fourty-five minute shoot, turning off his camera as he did so. taehyung smiled widely and nodded, before writing something down.
do you maybe want to come with me to a friends house? i think you guys will get along well! jungkook read off of taehyungs paper, nodding to himself. "sure," he responded, "i just have to call my mom really quickly, shes uh- pretty strict." jungkook explained, pulling out his phone to let his mother know his plans. after a long and heated phone call with his mother, she finally agreed to let him go. he ended the call and put his phone back in his pocket before turning back to taehyung. "okay, i can come." jungkook smiled the best he could.
taehyung took him to meet a boy their age named park jimin, who was loud and enthusiastic and very sweet. jungkook liked jimin, he made jungkook laugh. he almost asked jimin about taehyungs notebook, but decided against it. they all hung out together for a little while, seeming already familiar with one another even though jungkook was new. jungkook had never had friends who made him feel more at home than jimin and taehyung had. soon, jungkook explained that he had to get home or his mother would be upset and both boys understood completely. taehyung even offered to walk him home but jungkook politely declined, saying that he lived nearby anyway.
when he did finally arrive home his mother was far from pleased with him but he decided it was worth a little scolding from her because damn, was taehyung beautiful.
