I walked out of the dressing room, Connor waved at me from the high chair where life-guards sit in, or they stand beside it. I felt kind of insecure standing there in just my swimming trunks and slender body in front of him. Not that he was completely ripped or anything. His arms were pretty blown and his shoulders were toned. Whereas I was more of an I, he was a T. I couldn't help but check him out, he didn't notice. I had gotten really good at unnoticeably checking people out. I call it admiring from afar, some people call it "stalking". I laughed at the thought of that meme of myself. Connor climbed out of the chair and came up to me.

'Your shirt and whistle are in your locker' he said while laughing, and he pointed at the open locker, the key was sticking out of it.

'oh.. I see..' I uttered awkwardly, I blushed. I walked back in and put the red shirt on and threw the whistle around my neck. I looked into the mirror, the red made my eyes pop. I felt pretty confident in the attire, I felt like I actually meant something and that helped considering I had felt so useless for the past month, and this way I even made money. The only thing missing were green flip-flops. I had blue ones though, blue was my favorite color. Mainly because of the sky, and partially because of Harry Styles' eyes.

I walked into the pool area again, a little girl was running around , awfully close to the edge of the pool.

'Hey there little one,' I said as I walked up to her. She looked at me, she had big, hazel eyes and her pink swimming suit was literally the cutest. I knelt down 'Don't run close to the edges of the pool, you might slip and we don't want that, do we?' I said with a friendly smile on my face. She nodded in agreement and walked back to her friends.

'Ah, I see Connor has taught you well' I heard Peter's voice. I looked up surprised, and stood up. Where was Connor anyway?

'Dad, Nicola's late again! These kids should have been in the pool learning how not to die when in the water by now!' I heard Connor from behind me. Peter and I turned around to face a grumpy Connor. Peter sighed fairly noticeably,

'Well, if it bothers you so much then you should go there and give lessons yourself' He calmly explained.

'I can't dad, and you know that. I'm the worst with children.' Connor commented.

'Then you'll have to deal with it'

and right at that moment a girl with the same remarkable green eyes came rushing in 'Sorry I'm late,' she said while hastily putting her hair in a ponytail.

Connor snorted 'it isn't the first time'

Peter shot him a meaningful glance. 'So Connor, why don't you teach Troye the tricks of the trade and let everyone else do their thing in peace?' He asked, it was more an order though. Connor looked at me like he suddenly realized that I was still there. For one second we locked eyes, Connor then proceeded to stare at the ground.

'Sure' he mumbled and we walked to the high chair together, 'So basically, you just check if everyone is safe, see if everyone is following the rules, and if not, you do something about it' he stated and he leaned against the chair.

I wanted to ask him if everything was alright, because that was clearly not the case. But I figured it was none of my business so I just nodded, I barely knew the guy anyway. I wanted to get to know him though, I really did.

'Sorry, I'm in a really bad mood right now' he stated. I nodded,

'it's alright, we all have our days'

He grinned; 'and weeks' he added.

 'and months'

 'some even got years..'

'Naww.. That's sad..' I laughed. 'So.. is this a family-run business?' I asked. Connor nodded,

'yeah, you're an intruder' he laughed. At least he was laughing right now, I guess he had me to thank for that, or he was just being polite. We watched as the girl named Nicola explained how to dive to the children, Peter was in the office eating a sandwich.

'Ugh, can you believe it?' Connor groaned, and he looked at me indignantly.

'What?' I asked skeptically.

'Dad always yells at us for eating in the office, and there he is spilling all of his hot chili sauce over the keyboard.'

I looked over at the office, and indeed Peter was busy cleaning his keyboard with paper towels. 'That's going to get sticky' I remarked, 'you should always use water with that kind of stuff' I added.

Connor grinned, 'I bet the paper towel will stick to the keyboard..' he smirked. I let out a short laugh,

'3..2..' and indeed, Peter tried pulling away his paper towel after another deb, in vain. The paper towel ripped in half as one end stuck to the keyboard. Connor and I doubled up with laughter. His laugh was loud, obnoxiously loud but not annoying. It was kind of contagious to be honest. I covered my face with my hands as it had gotten as red as a tomato and tears were streaming down my cheeks from laughter.

After Nicola had shot us a few meaningful glances we tried to hold it in, and it worked. I turned around facing the wall, looking at Connor's face would certainly get me laughing again. Just like me and Kayla always did in high school. Teachers were always so annoyed by us, we had been kicked out of class on numerous occasions because we just couldn't hold it together.

'Why do you cover your face with your hands when you laugh?' Connor suddenly asked. I turned to him again, I smirked

'To be honest with you Connor, like to be really honest, it's because I have this reoccurring dream, like talk about 3 times a week in which I'm standing in front of the crowd at my wedding and my parents are displaying pictures of me laughing really loudly, and the crowd then laughs at me because my face looks weird when I do that. Like, I pull this really different face and it looks like a carebear got sawn in half and stumped upon by a steamroller' I admitted, some kind of shame dripping off me. I could feel my cheeks becoming red again. Connor laughed,

'I'm very sorry for you, you have my sympathy'

'I won't settle for anything less than condolences though.' I smirked. Connor raised one eyebrow

'oh damn, you have it bad man.' He laughed. He looked cute when he laughed.
