Chapter 3: Shoelace

Nixon's POV

5:45 A.M.

(Alarm ringing)

"Kuya kuya! Gising na!", said by my cute, 7 years old, sister, Bea, as she shakes my legs. Then I said, "Oo na, eto na si kuya, pagising na." Then I heard my mom said, "Nixon, bilisan mo yung galaw mo. May meeting pa akong hahabulin. Pagkatapos mong maligo, kumain ka na dito at aalis na tayo." Then I shouted, "Sige po Ma."

After my Mom dropped of Bea to her school, she then told me, "Anak, be great at school ah? Wag mong pabayaan na bumaba yung grades mo dahil sa mga nangyari these past days. Okay?" I replied with a smirk, "Oo naman Ma, hinding hindi ko naman pinabayaan grades ko kahit noong may girlfriend pa ako." Then my mother said while she reached something from her bag, "Hay... Sana nga anak."

When we arrived at the gate of my school, she then gave me my allowance, but somehow its different. The amount is too large! I then said, "Ma, baka nagkamali po kayo ng bigay. Masyado po 'tong malaki kumpara sa dati nyong binibigay." She replied, "Hindi anak, sayo na yan. After school, mag-gala gala ka nalang kasama ng banda mo at manood kayo ng movie or something. Pero walang iinom ng kahit anong nakakalasing. Okay?" "Okay Ma, thank you po.", I said before kissing her cheek.

After I kissed my mom's cheek, I faced at the door of our car and something shocking happened. Toby's freaking face was in front of the window, excited and waiting for me to get off the car. As I got off, he shouted, "NIX MAY BATTLE OF THE BANDS!!" I boredly replied, "Ahh... Kelan daw?" Toby, angry and said, "Ina din nito eh. Tayong dalawa nga diba yung nageexpect niyan dito sa school? Anong reply yan?" "Masaya naman ako, di lang siguro kita dahil sa mugto kong mga mata" I replied softly. "Oo nga pala, sorry Nix. Andoon na silang lahat, hinihintay tayong dalawa para makapagregister. Tara na." Toby replied.

After the registration, we instantly saw the 6 bands that are going to perform, the line ups are:
1st, Time and Space
2nd, Electrostatic plauge
3rd, Life in a Bottle
4th, Trends
5th, The All New Chapter
6th, Cloud Locks

This made me excited and happy. But for some reason, I came to the point I cried again...

As we were about to go to our classrooms with a lot of students, then I saw HER... Amber Claire Z. Villiafuencia. The girl that I had fallen inlove with the most... And you know what? I saw something else... I saw the dude that Cresley was talking about. I don't know his name but he's doing my job, tying the shoelace of her shoes. This made my heart to break more and tears to fall more. Then I remember what Cresley told me, never show her that you're weak without her. But her I am, crying. The great thing is after I saw HER, my band mates covered me and made me to walk into our classroom. Then Kyle said, "Wag mo kasing tignan, lalo mo lang sinasaktan sarili mo." And the rest of them said, "Oo nga Nix." Then I thanked them because of what they did before we go our way to our respective classrooms.

While I was on my way to my classroom, someone slipped an arm and cross it to my arm. Then I saw it was Cresley. And don't worry, its perfectly fine. We both know that its just friendly, and even her boyfriend knows its friendly. Then she greeted, "Goodmorning 'NIXY' HAHAHAHA joke lang Nix. Nako nako, magiging malungkot nanaman yan kasi maaalala nya lahat ng nicknames sakanya ni Amb-", I quickly told her, "Stop, wag mo nang sabihin yung name nya. I had enough for today. Okay?" She then replied, "Hay... Sakit diba? Yung nakikita mo siyang masaya sa ibang tao? Yung napapangiti siya? Anyways, may chikka akong narinig, kasali rin daw yung bago nya sa battle of the bands" I told her with a smile, "Ahh talaga? Kapag nakausap mo siya sabihin mo nalang goodluck." She answered, "Di ko na nga kinakausap si Amber simula nung break up nyo. Alam mo yung feeling na galit ka sa bestfriend mo dahil mali yung ginawa niya sa isang tao? Uggh, nang-gigigil ako!" I softly answered, "Cresley, wag mong sirain yung friendship niyong dalawa dahil sakin. Isipin mo nalang na ganito lang talaga yung buhay, masakit." She then replied as we arrived to our classroom, "Hays... Sige, dahil yan yung gusto mo"
