Going Under

We all want the same things

Yet we hold them to far from reach

Whenever we try to grasp it

We get pulled farther beneath

No one wants pain

No one wants a burden

But we all try for the same things

While hurting each other

Who started this mess

Who made it all seem cool

It doesn't matter now

But were not just tools

We hit a wall

We only got each other

But we can't reach at all

We just have to swim a little farther

As we slowly sink

The water slowly rises

Some know how to swim

The others can only drown

How can we reach out to each other

If we keep swimming out farther

Away from one another

Not all of us can swim

But you can keep your head down

You're just trying to survive

While we all drown

I keep my eyes open

No matter how much they burn

Struggling to live

No matter where we turn

Some of us live

By preying off the weak

How much sense does it make

If they're gone in a week

I'm living by a thread

No matter how much I lose

I just keep swimming right next to you

You tell me to hang on no matter what we do

But I'm going to have to let you loose

So you don't drown too

I hear you scream, but

There's nothing you can do

I made my choice

Just to save you

My airs getting thinner

I don't know what to do

I have to survive, but

I'm no longer next to you

Goodbye for now

You'll get a little stronger

Because you don't have me

You'll live a little longer
