"I'm not sure if I want to see the movie, the book was so good, I'm afraid they would ruin it, you know?" Willa said to Philby.

She leaned against the wall, thankful the elevator they were riding in was devoid of other people. It allowed them to continue their discussion about the a book series they were both hooked on, without the awkwardness that usually came with riding elevators with strangers.

"I'm agree." Philby said, "They might be able to pull it off if they make sure to include-" he was cut off mid sentence when the elevator lurched and stopped. The doors stayed closed.

"What just happened?" Willa said slightly panicked. Standing up from her relaxed position.

"I think the elevator just broke down." Philby said, brow furrowed.

"Like, we're stuck?"

"Yeah."

"That's just great." Willa sighed, thinking about all the things she had to do that day. Getting stuck in an elevator definitely wasn't one of them.

"It's okay, we can just call, they have an emergency button for a reason." Philby said logically.

Willa nodded and trying to stay calm.
Philby pressed the emergency button, nothing happened.

"Do you think that's broken too?" Willa asked.

"Seems like it..."

"So...what are we going to do?" Willa said.

"Sit here and wait out, they have to notice it's not working eventually..." Philby trailed off.

"Seriously." Willa stated. "That's like, the worst idea ever."

"It's not like we have a ton of options!" Philby defended.

"For someone who is soooo smart, you sure do come up with some dumb stuff."

"Okay, Genius Angelo, what do you suggest we do??" Philby taunted.

Willa looked disgusted,

"I don't know Dell, maybe try and call from our cell phones, or see of any other button works or something!"

"I doubt we have cell service..." was his only response.

Willa humphed and pulled out her phone. After a few seconds of swiping across the screen, she put her phone back in her pocket.

"Okay, maybe we don't have any service, that doesn't mean sitting here is the only solution." Willa said crossing her arms.

"No, you're right, hitting random buttons on the elevator should help." Philby said sarcastically.

Willa rolled her eyes,

"I can't stand you sometimes."

"The feeling is mutual, trust me." Philby responded.

Willa made a disgusted noise.

"You really don't care about anyone's feelings do you?" Willa asked.

"Speak for yourself" Philby quipped.

"Okay, I might say some stuff that is kind off sometimes, but at least I can show how I feel unlike you."

"I show people how I feel." Philby defended himself, obviously getting angrier.

"Oh yeah?" Willa asked raising her eyebrows. "When? When was the last time you showed anyone how you felt, when was the last time you showed me how you felt?"

"You want me to show you how I feel?" He asked frustrated.

"Yeah, show me!" She challenged.

Willa didn't know what she expected him to do. She definitely didn't expect him to reach out pull her close and kiss her. Willa hadn't had much experience with kissing but she didn't have to be an expert to know it was a good kiss.

The elevator lurched back to life, but Philby just put his hand on her waist and pulled her closer. The doors pinged open.

Finn Whitman stood wide eyed in front of the elevator.

"Ummm...hi?"
