Phoenix's POV
"And when things don't go their way..." Dan begins. "Then they do whatever they have to do to fix it." A voice from the doorway finishes. Everybody looks up. A women in a black cat suit is standing in the doorway. She has long black hair with neon blue streaks that perfectly match her electric blue eyes. She has at least two knives on her that I can see. Matthias is pointing a gun at her. "Who are you and how did you get in?" He demands. "This is private property!" Dan adds. "First of all, put the gun away trigger happy." Matthias frowns and lowers his gun, but doesn't put it away. "And I heard you guys talking about government conspiracies, the same exact ones I've been researching." Matthias relaxes a little. "Your Enigma." He states. "And your Matthias." She replies. Enigma... the assassin everyone's been talking about? She's in my notebook.
"Hey, what's going on?" I break in. "I heard you guy talking about the recent break outs and murders. I was present at the last murder. The murder of Sky M, the agent of the Uprising. I was hired to track her to collect information on the Uprising. But then two agh men approached, one from the left and one from the right. Without a word the grabbed her and injected some tranquilizer in her arm. She passed out after a few seconds. Then a third man walked out of the shadows and slit her throat. They all had gloves, masks, and in standard clothes. It was an easy murder. After that they dragged her body I down to Red Street. The police assumed a mugging. Too easy." "Too organized." Dan finished. Enigma nodded.
"We need to find other people to help." I say. Everybody looks at me. "How? It's not like we can walk up to a random person on the street and be like 'Hey! Do you think the government is plotting to kill us all? Me too!'" Enigma replies. "We can't trust them!" "But how can we trust you?" Dan shoots back. "Let's all come clean with each other." Matthias says. "As in, Phoenix, I know your a hybrid," I nod, surprised he could tell. ",and Dan and I are just badass humans, but who, or what, are you, may I ask?" Enigma seems to consider this. "I will tell you, but only if you promise me this: we will work as a team to bring down the government." Matthias looks at me, then Dan. We both nod. "Deal." Matthias replies. "I'm a genetically modified human. I can fly and turn invisible." "I can fly too! I'm half Phoenix!" I add. "So you have wings?" Dan asks. I nod. He smiles the smile of a madman. "Cool! That's amazing! That's-" Matthias cuts him off. "Irrelevant. Let's get to the point. We need help. I know I'm amazing and it's hard to believe, but four people can't take down an army." "He's right." Enigma agrees. "We need help." I smile and pule out a notebook. On the cover in Sharpie is the word 'Heroes' "This is my record of all heroes from vigilantes to spies to government teamies." Dan looks at me oddly. "Did you just say... teamies?"
I roll my eyes. "Anyways, I've found three trust worthy and powerful possible teammates. Number one." I flip to the middle. On that page there is a picture of a human figure with a blue trail of light behind them. It's too blurry to make out any facial features, but everyone in the room recognizes the famous vigilante. "Blue Knight." I confirm. "She's saved too many lives to count, and is a vigilante, in other words, against the government. She is the hero responsible for the death of twins Viktoria and Nadja W, evil people working for the government. I think she'll be the hardest to catch, so let's do her first." "How do you know it's a girl?" Matthias asked. "Clearly feminine. Either that or it a very scrawny boy." I reply. "Let's get started then." Enigma announces.
