Some guy attacked me and now I'm in Naruto(a Naruto fanfic)

Chapter 10

Hey everyone! I just want to say that since this is a fanfic, the story could change while still following the main plot. I also want to let you know that any flashbacks will be in italics. now then, on to chapter 10!

Mark's POV

We were now in a little boat, surrounded by an immense fog, to dense to see through past 10 feet.

"What thick mist." Sakura commented, looking all around us. "I can't see ahead."

"We should see the bridge soon." Our boat driver told us. "The Land of Waves is at the end of the bridge."

We sat there for a while, until slowly, the bridge appeared.

"WOAH! IT'S HUGE!" Naruto screamed, making me cringe. We were going with no motor for a reason.

"Hey! Be quiet!" The boat driver whisper-yelled. "Why do you think we're traveling in the mist with no motor? If Gato catches us then we're in big trouble!"

As he finished his sentence, I thought back to our conversation with Tazuna earlier, and by the the look on his face, so was Kakashi.

"First, sensei, and Mark, I want to talk to you." Tazuna said. "It's about this mission."

"You guys were right. This mission is beyond the scope of your team. As it turns out, there's a very dangerous man after me."

"A dangerous man?" We asked, looking at each other.

"Who?" Kakashi asked him, making him sweat.

"You've probably heard his name before."

There was a long pause as he closed his eyes and sighed slightly.

"He's a billionaire in the field of marine transportation. His name is Gato!"

"You mean... Gato... Of Gato shipping and transport? The Gato? They say he's the richest man in the world!!" Kakashi exclaimed. I looked at him curiously. Who??

"Who's this "Gato" Kakashi-sensei?" I asked, making him look at me.

"I forgot, you're new around here and haven't heard of him."

"Let me explain everything, Mark." Tazuna said, making me nod.

"On the surface, he looks like a legitimate businessman." He continued. "The truth is he's a ruthless murdering criminal who employs gangs and teams of Shinobi, and traffics in drugs and contraband."

"He starts taking over companies... And ends up running entire countries. He lives by every low and vicious trade known to man."

"It was just one year ago... That he set his sights on the land of waves... He came under the guise of a business venture. Then the violence began, and in no time at all, he'd taken over our entire marine transportation and shipping industry, and we were all under his thumb!"

"Gato now has a stronghold on all forms of transportation, the lifeblood of an island nation, and a stranglehold on all the wealth... The only thing he has to fear is that which has been underway for some time... The completion of that bridge!" He finished, while Sakura put her hand on her chin, thinking of something.

"I... See... And as the architect of the bridge and overseer of its construction... You, Mr. Tazuna, are very much in his way." She realized, while Sasuke looked over.

"That means... That the ninja who attacked us were working for Gato." Sasuke said, making me nod. I looked at Naruto, seeing him trying his best to keep up.
