Matte's POV
Mauly has been going on and on with her volunteering, but then listening to here didn't bore me, it just made me listen to her more. She was smiling all the time she told her story. As I listen to her stories, I thought to myself, gosh, this lady is becoming more beautiful by the minute.
"You're not only beautiful outside, but also on the inside Mauly." I said making her look at me straight in the eyes, and she suddenly smiled. That was a brightest smile that I have ever seen her made. I also saw her turn bright red.
"Let's eat." I said and she picked up her spoon and fork. We ate silently.
After eating, the dessert came together with wine.
"Sir, how is you stay here in the Philippines? I heard you have be living in Europe for more than 10 years." She said starting a conversation.
"Its fine. Adjusting is not hard for me, because, as a child I grew up here, we just moved to Europe when I was 10 years old, and twice a year we come here for vacation."
"Sir, but now, do you plan to stay here in the Philippines and run the company, or are you going back to Europe and manage it from their?"
"Me, I think I'm staying here, but my father and mother will return to Europe by next month. My sister and her husband are planning to start a family here." I said and she smiled. "How about you Mauly, do you have any plans on going on an adventure?" I asked out of curiosity.
"I plan to travel around and explore what the earth could offer, but then that could wait. I still have so much to go through." She smiled, but I can see sadness in her eyes.
"How about your dad, what does he do?"
"My father, oh I don't know. I don't even know how much he's grown old by now." Still she's looking outside.
"Why did you leave Forbes?" I asked with a soft voice.
"I moved out the moment graduated from college. After a year, when my mom passed away, My father remarried. She had a daughter my age and she is very sweet and kind, the total opposite of her mother." I can feel hatred in her voice. "By that way that is my life, why am telling you this anyway?" She asked.
"I'm listening, you don't need to hold back." I said and I reached for her hand on top of the table. She just looked at me and her hands. I pulled her hand and kissed her hands, while looking at her. I didn't let go, but she slowly pulled it and looked away. "Its getting late. Let' go. I'll take you to you unit." I said and I offered my hand, but she didn't take it.
I went to the counter to pay the bill and she just stood beside me.
"Let's go." I said and we went to the parking lot. I opened the door for her and she went in.
On the way to Pacific Tower, we were caught up in traffic. "You can sleep first if you're tired. I can wake you up when we get there." I said and she didn't talk but she just closed her eyes.
Half an hour had passed and we reached the tower parking lot. I shook her a bit, "Mauly, wake up, we're here." I said and she slowly opened her eyes.
"Thank you sir for always taking me home." She said and she went out. When she closed the door, I started my engines but she knocked at the window. I rolled it down.
"Sir, would you care for a cup of tea?" She asked and smiled.
I smiled, stopped the engines and got out of the car. She led the way and I followed her. To my surprise she owns the penthouse of the tower. She swiped her card and she invited me in.
