Chapter Five:
The test was clutched tightly in her now white hands. She didn't want to look down, at the floor, the test, anything! She just kept her eyes on one of the tiles of the bathroom door.
It was only once....
She finally moves her gaze from the door as a small clang utters throughout the room. In her numbness she released the small test.
Clara could finally feel the burn behind her eyes, and frantically wiped her eyes before the tears started to fall.
She felt like a failure, what's her father going to say? What would her mother say?
How was she going to tell Derek?
Would she keep it? She couldn't get rid of the life inside of her... could she?
If she kept it would Derek help raise it?
No. She mentally scolded herself, it's not an it but her child. Her little girl or boy. In that moment she knew she would love this child no matter what.

"Mummy?" Clara is shaken from her thoughts as she looked down at her baby girl.
"Yes baby?"
"Are you okay? You have been staring into space for ages"
Clara smiled softly and ran her fingers through her daughter silky smooth hair.
"I'm fine"
"If you say so" Violet wasn't convinced, her mother had been doing that a lot lately, just staring, deep in thought, and it was starting to worry the six year old.
