Fire surrounded us as we waited for the boat to come back to get us. Walkers were slowly filtering in as we waited on the shore outside of Strand's house. Maddie and Travis were pacing the shore line while I sat with Chris on the rocks. He had been in a trance since his mother was shot. It was almost like he was hollow as he sat there staring down at his mothers dead body.

After I kissed him earlier on I avoided most contact with him, I was there for him but he needed to grieve. The boy had a temper, that was for sure and I told myself I would not get caught in the crossfire.

I told Nick about the kiss and he was pissed. We hadn't spoken after it. I didn't want to lie to him so I told the truth no matter how much it hurt the both of us.

Nick was in the boat as he turned around to collect us after dropping Alicia, Ofelia, Daniel and Strand on the ship. Walkers had made their way onto the beach and were getting closer and closer as the seconds passed.

"Chris come on! We have to go!" Travis shouted as he stood in the water waiting for Chris as the boat had arrived. I treaded into the water with Maddie as we scrambled into the boat.

"I'm not leaving her!" Chris screamed back as he sat there staring at his mother. Travis ran back towards Chris picking up Eliza's body as they both moved back to the boat, Chris getting there first. Travis put Eliza's body in the boat and was gripped hold of by a walker that was standing in the water. He battled against the grip until Nick managed to pull it into the motor of the boat. The walker's face was mangled as all the skin had been torn off. Travis got in the boat as fast as he could and the boat took off.

We got to the ship and climbed aboard. As soon as we were on, Strand started the ship up and we began moving as far away from the beach house and the coast line as possible.

The sun had risen and no one had slept all night. Chris stayed in one of the guest rooms staring at his mother's body all night while the rest of us sat around trying to piece together how we would survive this. Strand had a plan that we would go towards San Diego, apparently it was safe there. I didn't care where we went so long as it was safe.

I sat on the deck of the yacht with Alicia as we watched the land behind us slowly disappear. I saw something in the distance so I began to stand and head to the other end of the boat. There were people waving there arms and screaming for help on top of a skiff.

"Guys! Quick! We have to help them! There's people drowning!" I shouted out to everyone on the ship as people crowded around watching as we got closer and closer to the skiff. Maddie ran to tell Strand yet I had a feeling he already knew what was happening. I stood there watching as these people screamed, I couldn't do anything. Alicia stood next to me as we watched on in horror as the yacht continued on, passing by the skiff.

"What are we going to do? We have to help them!" Alicia says as soon as she sees Travis. He looks deep in thought as he soon looks up at the distressed people in the water.

"It's too dangerous. These people could be infected. They could try to rob us. I need you girls to find the radio and scan the channels. See if anyone is saying anything about a safe destination." Travis says before going off to find Maddie.

Alicia and I got to work scanning stations. All the stations were distress signals, or people dying.

"Do you think we're going to find anything?" I ask as we both looked down at the radio before us.

"To be honest. I don't think we're going to find anything good." Alicia said as she concentrated on what was being said on the other end. We continued flicking through channels, I was beginning to get exhausted emotionally and physically after not sleeping in 3 days. Just as I was about to call it a quits we tuned into the National Coast Guard.
