Chapter 15:

BACK TO KAYLAS POV:

Were halfway through the school year and finals are over so I can finally relax. So yes, I haven't talked to Cody in that long. Its been a few months.

"Kayla!! Are you gonna go or not?!" this is about the third time this week Alyssa has asked me this question.

"I don't want to! School dances are so lame. You know I don't go to those things. I already went to homecoming because you forced me. Are you forcing me to this one to?"

"Well no.. But it'd be nice if my best friend came because we do everything together! Well almost."

"Then no, I'm not going."

"Well now Im forcing you to. Were halfway through high school. Enjoy it!"

"Says the one who didn't want to go back in the first place." I tell her sarcastically.

"Whatever. Everyone's asking me if your going to be there."

"Why? What do they care?"

"You haven't lost your popularity status Kayla.." she reminds me.

"Ugh. Whats with that word.. Im just being myself."

"Just come. Im buying the tickets and your coming!" she says leaving my room.

I roll my eyes and continue back to the tv. I finally had a break from school and meetings and everything I was doing, it was good to have a day off. I forgot what it was like to not have a life.

"Get up. Were going dress shopping." Alyssa comes back into my room not even fifteen minutes later.

"Ugh why? Its my day off!" I complain.

"Yeah. A day off so you can shop with me. So get up. The dance is tomorrow and we aren't prepared."

"Maybe because I didn't plan on going." I rolled out of bed throwing on a pair of jeans, and a v-neck, letting my hair out of my messy bun, throwing on my vans.

We get to the dress shop, and Im hoping this wouldn't take long because I wanted to get back home and relax. I look through the racks of dresses scanning over them.

"How about this one?!" Alyssa pulls one out.

"Nooo. To many sparkles. Shop for yours and I'll shop for mine." we continued to do so with time passing by. I tried on a few not really liking them, so it took longer than expected.

"How about this one?" I ask Alyssa stepping out of the dressing room.

"Perfect!" she smiles widely.

I looked in the mirror again, smiling at what I had chosen. It was a light blue at the top and the further it went down, it faded into a navy blue. It was a strapless sleek dress that stopped just above my knees with very few details on it. I liked simple dresses. I thought it was just to much to go all out for school dances. Alyssa grabbed her dress, we paid the cashier and left.

---

"Hello?" I pick up my phone sitting on the couch with Alyssa watching Pretty Little Liars.

"Hey Kayla. What are you doing today?" she asks.

"Just being lazy today. Going to a school dance tonight with Alyssa."

"Oooh. Can I come over and help you guys get ready?" she pleads.

"Sure."

"Yay! Be there in 30 minutes!" she immediately hangs up the phone.

"Who was that?" Alyssa asks.
