Chapter 21:

I slowly open my eyes to the beaming light of the sun peaking its way into the bedroom. Cody's arm wrapped around me. I slowly turn over to face him although he's still sleeping. I rest my hand on his bare chest, looking up at him sleeping. I reach up being able to kiss his chin.

"Good morning." he slowly wakes up.

"Morning." I smile.

"Its our last day in town, what do you want to do today?" I ask him.

"You know more about this city than I do since you grew up here. You tell me." he laughs.

"Hm. We can explore down town. One of the oldest spots here. This city doesn't have much."

"Sounds good to me." he agrees.
I get up and get ready for the day. Cody doing the same. Waiting for Cody, I greet my grandparents and mom with a good morning who are all sitting in the living room.

"Want to go to break fast?" Cody asks meeting me at my side. I nod taking up the offer.

"We'll see you guys later. Were going out for the day." I inform my family. The next minute Cody and I are out the door.

"Where to?" he asks.

"Dennys or Ihop?"

"Whats better?"

"Whats with you and all the questions?! Just choose one!" I tease.

"Alright alright. Um, Ihop?" he laughs.

"Fine with me." I agree and were on our way.

When we arrive its only a split second when people start to notice Cody. With him being the nicest person on this earth, of course he stopped for every picture and autograph. I grab us a table as he finishes up.

"Sorry about that." He apologizes sitting across from me.

"Its fine. Im use to it." I smile. Sure, it got a little annoying especially when the two of us just wanted time together, but I understand because those girls use to be me. That's probably what I'd be doing if I wasn't where I am today.

"Thanks for breakfast." I smile at Cody while he pays for the check.

"Your welcome love." he smiles back to me. He takes my hand in his and we make our way to down town. We walk around the oldest part of the city going into a bunch of little shops. Of course the occasional stops for the fans we ran into.

"OH MY GOSH! ITS CODY SIMPSON." A girl screams. She had to be twelve years old. This girl was over the top though. Screaming while Cody and I were basically standing in front of her. Cody puts his finger up to his lip to try getting her to quiet down.

"Do you want a picture?" he asks her. She quickly shakes her head yes and her mom takes the picture.

"Why are you with her?" Oh yay, a snobby fan...

"Because she's my girlfriend..." Cody takes my hand back in his trying to avoid conflict. Obviously he didn't understand the question the way she meant it and I knew exactly what she was talking about.

"No.. Like why are you with her? At all... You could do better Cody." the fact this little girl had the courage to say it in front of our faces is what surprised me.

"You can think what you want. But I make the decisions who I want to date and it just so happens Kayla is perfect for me." he says as nicely as he can and turns us around slipping his arm around my waist.

"Im sorry about that. Thats not something I want you to deal with." he apologizes.

"Don't apologize. Its not your fault. Its just the jealousy fangirls that over come them. And I deal with it for you, because thats how much you mean to me." I poke his chest, smiling at him.
We continue walking the streets down town for a few hours. While buying ice cream my phone buzzes in my back pocket.

"Hey mom." I pick up, looking at the caller I.D.

"Hey Kayla. Are you and Cody almost done? You both still have to pack up so we can leave in the morning. Were leaving really early." my mom informs me.

"Yeah mom were almost done. We'll be there in about an hour."

"Okay. By the way, tonight were going bowling with your aunt, uncle, and little cousins."

"Alright mom. We'll be back soon." I hang up the phone, grabbing my ice cream from Cody and finding a table to sit at.

"Who was that?" he asks.

"My mom. Were going bowling tonight. Are you okay with that?"

"Course." he smiles.

"Good because we have to leave as soon as were done to meet up with my mom." I laugh.

We eat our ice creams as quick as we can and leave back to the house. I pull out a pair of jeans and an over throw sweater with my Toms packing up everything else. Cody does the same and packs his things.

"I don't think I want to leave yet." Cody says laying out on the bed waiting for me.

"Really? Why?"

"Its so nice to be on vacation without any work calls and we get to do things and be together." he smiles.

"Well maybe we can take another vacation soon." I smile.

I finish throwing my hair up in a ponytail and putting on my Toms.

"Lets go! Were gonna be late!" My mom shouts from the living room.

"Ugh. Cmon' Cody." we quickly meet her side and leave for bowling.

We walk into the bowling alley looking for my family to find them waiting for us and eating pizza. They greet the three of us with hugs and smiles. My little cousin running to Cody and I.

"How was your trip the past few days?" my aunt asks.

"It was good! Great to see everyone." I answer.

"You have to come up more often. Come see us a little more."

"I'll definitely try auntie. Maybe we can get Cody to book a few events here and I'll come with him." I laugh.

"I might be able to talk to Matt about that." Cody chimes in.

My aunt laughs and turns her attention back to my mom.

"Lets go get bowling shoes." I motion to the counter with Cody following behind me and we ask for our sizes. The boy, maybe two-three years older than me hands us our shoes.

"Kayla? Kayla Brooks?" the boy says.

"Um. Yeah thats me..." I say confused.

"Oh wow! I haven't seen you in years!" he says.

"Um Im sorry. But do I know you?" I asked. I look at Cody and he just has this look on his face like he's as confused as I am.

"Jordan. Jordan Santoz!" he says hoping I'd remember. Thats when it clicks...
