Jolin's POV
As soon as I had stepped into the Uchiha compound grounds, I could only think one thing:
I was definitely screwed.
Every Uchiha had their eyes on me, and every conversation was dwindled to a silent mass. Their faces weren't hostile, but their bodies reacted as though I were a threat.
Needless to say, I was really freaked out.
I kept my face blank as possible and decided to look for Sasuke's house myself. I heard he was the son of Fugaku Uchiha, so maybe I could find it really easily.
Hopefully, without needing to ask someone.
I walked along the streets, stayed silent, and kept my hood over my head. I didn't dare talk, slow down, and just kept looking for my classmate's house.
'Come on, where is his house!?' I panicked. 'I have a mission in a few hours!'
Three hours later.....I finally found Sasuke's house. I'm no ninja, so I had to rely on my senses to find where Sauske's scent was the strongest.
Okay.....talk about awkward.
I'm standing right at his front door with my hand raised, ready to knock.
But I didn't.
'What if someone else much scarier than his brother or father answers?' I thought worriedly.
After contemplating there like a statue for five minutes, I mustered up courage and swung my wrist.
Tap! Tap!
I knocked on the wooden door frame.
No answer.
I didn't knock again and just stood there, my calm façade plastered all over my face, but inside, I was quavering like a leaf.
'I am so dead' I thought. After ten seconds, the door slid open to a pretty woman.
"Hello, my name is Jolin Morino," I said automatically, giving her a full 90 degree bow. "Is this where Sasuke lives?"
"Why yes," the lady answered cordially. "Are you perhaps a classmate of Sasuke's from the Academy?"
"Yes Ma'am."
"Come on in! Sasuke will be home soon," the lady said, stepping aside.
"Oh no no," I said quickly. "I'm just here to inform him that I've made some progress with our project."
"Then--"
"Jolin?" I turned around to see an interesting sight. Sasuke, Itachi, Shisui, and Fugaku were all behind me some five meters away. I was happy to find my classmate, but you can bet I was scared to death to see three strong ninjas staring at me like a threat.
.....should I be narrating something right now?
"Um, I found the problems with the project," I said as fast as I could, shoving the papers in Sasuke's arms. "Eh, just look through them when you can, and let's meet up after school on Monday, okay? Bye!" I ran off as quick as possible.
Author's POV
"Jolin?!" Sasuke yelled after the running girl.
"Is that a classmate of yours?" Shisui asked curiously. Sasuke nodded.
"Yeah, we were working on a class project. She's a really good partner."
"Hn." Fugaku stayed silent, but headed to the Uchiha Police Force to gather up his team. He had a mission with Jolin pretty soon.
Jolin rushed home, grabbed her tools and belonging, and ran to the Interrogation building.
"I'm going on another mission," Jolin said to Ibiki.
"Got it, Kid. Stay safe."
"You too."
Jolin ran to the Hokage's office in a hurry and waited nervously for the Uchiha Police Force team to arrive. Sure enough, all fourteen of them arrived, Sharingan, weapons, tools, and all.
"Good, you're all here," Lord Third said, pleased to see everyone present. "Lord Fugaku, you will be completing this mission." Jolin watched stoically as Fugaku accepted the mission.
"Meet up at the front gates," Fugaku ordered.
'What's the mission about?' Jolin wondered as she stood by the gate. Just like before, the rest of the police force gathered up at the gates and waited for their leader. Fugaku arrived in seconds later and had the team heading to their destinations.
"We are going to be transporting five B-rank rogue ninjas," Fugaku mentioned briefly on the way. "Jolin, I need you to kidnap any of their friends who might try to come rescue them. If it comes down to it, I give you permission to deal with the situation as you see fit."
"Yes sir."
Fugaku and his team arrived at the Land of the Mist eight hours later.
"Why welcome," the laid-back prison guard greeted Fugaku and his team. "Five B-rank prisoners, yes?"
"That is our intention, but do we not have to inform his lord?" Fugaku asked.
"Why yes. Please follow my fellow guard there," the man said easily, waving at his friend.
"Sorry about my friend's behavior," the second man apologized, while leading the team to the Lord's chamber. "He may seem easy to delude, but I can assure you, his strength is far superior than all of us with him."
Fugaku said nothing, and the second guard continued walking.
After quick confirmations, Fugaku watched with cold eyes the weak struggle the five B-rank ninjas made. All five were tied and chakra restraints were placed on them.
"Should we put them under a Genjutsu?" Someone asked their leader.
"Not for now. Save your energy until they put up a fight," Fugaku warned, well out of hearing of the rogue ninjas. "Jolin, remember your duty."
"Yes sir."
The team were well on their way, and darkness had already fallen long ago. Jolin traveled twenty meters in front of the team, looking for any outsiders or traps. Every couple minutes, she would sneak to the back and observe the back. Then to the right side of the traveling group, then to the left.
Three hours later, Jolin found her first and new target. Another rogue ninja spying on the team.
'Gotcha.' Jolin took him out with a fist-sized rock.
.....hey, don't look at me like that. I watched a movie that was recruiting some boys for a baseball team, and there's this boy who took off the head of a stuffed dummy! My dad pointed out that the coaches in the movie were looking for boys who could throw a ball 85 mph or higher.
Believe me, if some baseball player can throw even a 80 mph, my head's long gone.
So in conclusion! Baseball is very deadly! Be careful where you aim, and how fast you throw!
Back to Jolin, she clambered through the forest, hoisted the unconscious ninja over her shoulder, and deposited him with the other five ninjas.
'Surprisingly, I don't mind not killing people,' Jolin thought as she secured the man. 'It's almost just as satisfying hurling heavy rocks at them.'
"I've captured one ninja," the petite girl informed Fugaku.
"Keep looking for more."
"Yes sir."
