The next morning I could feel something warm and wet against my neck. I squirmed and rolled away from the feeling. Some hands pulled me back into my spot and I groaned, trying to push them away. They stayed firmly at my hips for a moment before fingers plunged into my sides and I screamed. I flailed wildly and my foot jammed something in the stomach. I jumped up and looked over at the form I had kicked, lying on the floor. I snickered and Dan glared at me.

"Only the second day of christmas holiday and I've already fallen on the floor twice." Dan grumbled, getting to his feet.

He jumped at me again and began to tickle me viciously. I screamed and laughed, desperately trying to push him off.

"Dan please!" I yelped, giggling hysterically.

"Please what?" he asked, smirking and jamming his fingers deeper into my sides.

"PLEASE S—STOP!" I cried out.

"Fine." He chuckled and climbed off me.

I let out a sigh of relief and glared at him.

"Did you lick my neck?" I narrowed my eyes at him.

"Maybe." He shrugged with a smirk.

I shoved him off the bed swiftly with one push. He let out a shriek as he slid off the bed and I let out a tired laugh. I crawled to the edge the bed and watched Dan frown at me. I let out a giggle and rested my chin on the edge of his bed, a cheeky grin on my face. He threw his feet up and wrapped them around my neck, yanking me to the ground and on top of him. I yelped as I landed on top of him, in between his open legs. He groaned at the impact and I steadied myself with my elbows, his chest pounding from the collision. I opened my eyes and stared down at Dan, who was bright red at our position. I tried to reposition myself but that just ended up in unnecessary friction, a moan caught in my throat. I squeezed my eyes shut and held it back, praying that I didn't get too... excited.

"Phil," Dan whispered, his breath hitting my face and making me shiver. "I—"

"Breakfast's ready!" Dan's father yelled.

I yelped at the surprise and toppled over, falling face first into Dan, his nose going into my mouth.

"Ow!" Dan groaned, pushing me off of him. I rolled away onto my back and let out a sigh. I glanced at Dan who was wiping my spit off his face, his cheeks still bright red. I let out a soft chuckle and got to my feet.

"What's so funny?" Dan snapped.

I shrugged.

"Us."

We walked to the market with Dan's dog beside us, in a comfortable silence.

Apparently they weren't sure if I would like their dog but I was pleasantly surprised when he clobbered me when I went to get dressed for the day.

"Colin, don't eat that!" Dan yelled, grabbing a discarded sandwich out of Colin's mouth and chucking behind us.

I laughed and wrapped my jacket tighter around myself in an attempt to block out the freezing winds.

"I love Colin." I shook my head and leaned down the scratch Colin's ears. He licked my hand a few times and jumped into my lap, his tail wagging.

Dan stared at me silently with a soft smile.

"Come on you dogs." Dan continued to walk towards the shopping center.

I stood up and ran after Dan with a pout, even though Dan couldn't see it.

"So what do we need?" I asked.

"Food, a horrific amount of it." Dan walked to a bike rack and tied Colin to it. "my mom wants to make a Christmas Eve dinner to make up for her and my dad being at work Christmas Day."

"That sucks." I frowned and followed Dan into the store.

"Yeah but now I won't be alone this Christmas." Dan smiled and my cheeks heated up.

We walked through the stores, gathering food in silence. My eyes wandered around the store, trailing behind Dan mindlessly. The trip through the store was quick and in no time we were paying at the till. Dan took the heavy bags and we made it outside. Dan struggled to untie Colin with full arms so I knelt down at took Colin myself.

"Thanks." Dan murmured and I sent him a soft smile.

We walked in a relaxed silence, Dan to my left and Colin on my right, Colin's pleasant pants adding to the content mood. The pavement was lined with grass beds covered in snow, with snow still falling around us.

Colin trotted to the left and then back around to the right, wrapping the leash around our ankles.

"Colin!" Dan shrieked.

Colin darted to the left, throwing me straight into Dan. I yelped and tried to keep balance but it was no use with my feet tangled together, I fell over onto Dan and pushing him down with me. Dan let out a shout as we fell into a grass bed, landing with a puff.

"Fuck me." Dan grumbled under his breath. I chuckled and shook my head. "what?"

"This is the second time today that we've been in this position," I smirked and Dan furrowed his eyebrows. "me on top of you."

Dan laughed and rolled his eyes.

"You wish."

My eyes flickered to his lips.

"Yeah." I sighed out.

Dan's face went red and his gaze flickered from my lips to my eyes.

"Phil," he whispered. "as much as I would love to be flattened by you, there is a turkey in the bags I dropped and Colin will most definitely eat it if we don't get up now." I chuckled and rolled off of Dan as best I could. I leaned over and untangled the leash from around our ankles.

Dan laughed from beside me.

"Oh my god, Phil." Dan tapped me on the shoulder and I looked up. "look at Colin." I looked to where Dan had gestured and chuckled. Colin was sat in the snow, watching us with his tongue out and tail wagging.

"At least he isn't eating the turkey." I shrugged.

"Yeah..." Dan chuckled, continuing to look back at Colin.

I unwrapped the last of the leash from our ankles and got to my feet. I brushed myself off and began to gather the bags. I looked at Dan, who seemed lost in thought, looking at Colin.

The snow fell all around us, quickly filling the divots in the snow where our bodies had been. It got caught in Dan's hair and clothes, like powdered sugar on a cake. His cheeks were dusted pink and his dimple was a soft crevice in his cheek.

Colin let out a quiet bark, a snap back to reality, and Dan jumped. I chuckled and held my hand to Dan, which he graciously took. I pulled Dan to his feet and handed him the bags of food.

"Thanks." He said and took them from me. He glanced at our hands, still interlocked. "do you mind?"

I shook my head with a content smile.

"No."

And with that, we walked hand in hand back to Dan's house.
