I went in to my bedroom and applied a subtle touch of peach blusher and rosy pink lipstick. Taking the blue dress out of the closet, I tried to remember the last time I wore it.
Chad Chadwick, even the name had a certain presence. I grabbed my Aretha Franklin CD and blasted 'A Natural Woman'.
Dancing in front of my full length mirror, I was pleased with the results. Slipping into my black pumps, I was now ready for what would be one of the most exciting evenings of my life. We'd have a little dinner, maybe a little wine. He'd tell me his life story I'd tell him mine.
I quickly gave my best friend Donna a call. No answer, straight to voicemail. "Hi Donna, it's Lois. Sorry you missed this call because I wanted to tell you that I'm about to experience one of the most exciting nights of my life. I've met an absolutely adorable man and we're going out to dinner."
I wondered if the squeal was too much.
"Anyway, I'll call you in the morning, Byeeeeee!"
Going back into my closet, I pulled out a black wrap. It could be cooler later should we decide to take a midnight stroll by the pier. Of course he could always give me his jacket but that might be to presumptuous. I sat down on the sofa and looked at my watch.
Yup, anytime now Chad Chadwick would be walking through that door.
Yup, tonight was a going to be a good night.
Now, if only I had told him where I lived.
