~Carmen
It's 10:30 at night, my mom and I just got home and my phone is dead. I hold my dress bag up and kick the front door shut and walk up to my room.
"Carmen! Shannon called! Call her back!" My dad yells from the bottom of the stairs.
I open my laptop and message Shannon on skype.
To: Shannon
Hey sorry I missed your call. My phone died while I was out.Shannon is calling..
I tap on the green phone and her face pops up. "Hey girl." She smiles.
"Hey."
"I just wanted to say thank you for coming to the airport today. And that you're a strong willing girl who puts everyone before yourself. I'm very proud of you. Even though you're hurting your own feelings. But you also have to be honest with your self."
"I have no one to be honest too."
"Why can't you be honest with Kyle?"
"That's different Shannon..." I pull my blankets down and sit by my pillows. I pull my blankets up to my waist and pull my laptop closer.
"Where the hell are you? It's so dark."
"I'm my room. Hold on." I lean over and turn my bedside lamp on. "Better?"
"Bett- where did you get those lights?"
I turn my head a little and look at the colorful lights hanging on my wall. "I bought them. Kyle helped me hang them up yesterday before we went to the beach."
"He packed the same exact lights into his suit case." She says matter-of-factly.
"He must've gotten them when I wasn't looking."
"That's what he said he did. He really likes you Carmen."
"He has a girlfriend Shannon."
Tyler's head lowers down from the top of her laptop. His white/silver hair spiked in every directon. "You don't get it Carmen."
"I can see up your nose Tyler." I point out.
"I don't care. I care about Kyle. Now listen. He is breaking up with his girlfriend because he fell for someone else. You. Now shut the fuck up and tell him how you feel."
"That's easy for you to say. You've had more then two girlfriends in your life. I've only dated one person my whole life."
"How long were you with the guy."
"Age 13 to almost 18."
"Holy shit." Shannon looks at me surprised.
"I'm serious about my relations."
"A lot of people are." Tyler comments.
