After that day, I had become known as The Flame as well as MAria. Due to my actions and my hair colour.

The Kingdom had been devastated. King Uther's death had befallen upon the kingdom, rumors spreading about Morganna by the second.  had asked Giaus about her and how Uther knew about the Warlock. Giaus had said to leave it be, now he was gone there was nothing we could do to find out about either of them. Morganna had been no-where to be seen for weeks upon months, even after search parties. The Kingdom had slowly been crawling back to life, but the people were yet to learn the ways of the new king.

At Arthur's  ceromony, everyone was relitivley happy. He was crowned King with Gwen at his side and everything was perfect. But then knowing our life of course, at that very point,

Something had to go wrong.

As arthur was being crowned king of Camelot, there was a sudden chill, running down my spine. I peered around with furrowed eyebrows looking for the source of the breeze. My eyes landed on a small figure balancing on the sill of the tiled window. The small boy balanced a crossbow in the shadows on the opposite side of the room, well hidden. I sussed out that he was a boy assasin, the trained them in the Northen borders, capturing young Drewids and pretty much brainwashing them. I felt it was disgusting.

As The new King rose from his crouchihng position, everyone cheered and the drewid took aim. I looked desperatley for Merlin, My eyes scanning the perimiter of the room. My eyes caught on the familliar blaze of red that was his neckerchief. I tried a pethetic attempt at telapathic waves to him, as Giaus had tried to teach me so, but, not surprisingly, to no avail. I desperatley tried to catch his attenition and succeded at lat. I frantically pointed to the window showing him the problem. He nodded and looked as if he was concentrating on the tip of the arrow. I seen his lips move and his eyes shimmer gold, before winking at me, showing that the problem wa solved. I didn't understand how he had helped in any way at all but he smirked as the newly named King Arthur waved to the villigares. All I heard was a "Oh!" And a crash, while everyone murmered and looked to the window where a small hooded figure rose. The boy was eleven at most, wide, terrified blue eyes and blonde hair that had been shaved clean off. He had various tatto type marks All over his forehead. They looked more as if they had been forcefully burned into his head than volantairily tattoed in.

Arthur drew his sword and shouted Guards, which soon had a hold of the boy. He looked absolutley terrified and he couldn't do anything about it. "Take him away." Arthur said sternly. A look of horror stood on the young Drewid's face. Arthur waved his hand as the Gaurds grabbed him and dragged him by his arms. "Wait!" I exclaimed, my mouth opening unknowingly, speaking of it's own will. I clamped a hand over my mouth and blushed, but quickly removed it and held my head high. Arthur looked at me with a look of admiration and confusion. "Maria," He said, picking up the small crossbow. "He attempted to kill me!"

I sucked up my courage and gave him my most meaningful look. By this time, the hall had gone silent except a few gasps now and then. "He is a boy, Arthur. Look at him, he's probabbly only eleven at most!" I exclaimed. I turned to the gaurds. "Release him!" .

They glanced at one another, hesitating. I started to get annoyed. "Release him. Now."

They didn't hesitate that time. They dropped the boy and he fell to his knees. I dropped with him, placing a hand on his cold shoulder. He felt like ice. "What is your name?" I asked quietly. He looked at me with sad, dazzling blue eyes and hesitated. "Howard." He whispered.

I glanced to his forehead where I could make out faint black lines. "Who did this?" I asked, reffering to the marks I lightly traced with my thumb. He shivered and shuffled uncomftorbly under contact. "My Master. The Warlock people talk about. He's coming, sooner than you think. You didn't realise did you? Uther's death was a plot. To distract Arthur, to twist his mind, to distract him. While He attacks Camelot. But his process has been slown down my a certain untrustworthy assasin. One you were all close too." He started to rise and seemed to grow older as he rose. "And her name was Morganna Pent Dregon." This earned a few gasps from the crowd, but that wasn't what I was foucosing on. "Was?" I seemed to rise in voice level too. "What do you mean, was?" I felt fury build up inside of me. Even though she was a traitor she was still practically a sister to me. The little Drewid Chuckled at my reaction. "Oh Morganna? Yeah she's dead. We killed her a long time ago haha" He smirked and I couldn't hold in the fury any longer. "You little-" If it wasn't for Merlin's holding me back, I would have murdered the boy. And when I realiesed that, I felt like a monster.

I threw myself on my bed and broke down into sobs. I nearly killed the boy. Howard had been taken away by th Gaurds and was hung. I heard the door creak open and a weight sag the bed beside me. "Maria..." I heard Merlin's voice as he placed a hand on the small of my back. "Sit up. I wan't to see your beautiful face."

I turned to him.

"This is not a beautiful face, Merlin. This is the face of a monster. A Monster. If it weren't for you, he'd have been dead."

We continued this conversation until the Warlock came up.

"Merlin, we need to hunt him down and kill him before any harm can come to Camelot."

"WE? No Maria, I'll go. Women-"

"Are strictly porhibited to go on quests yadayadayada I know, I've only heard it two thousand timesFemale relations of the king are to stay inside the boundries of the kingdom, no exceptions, Unless with a blessing from the King himself-" I stopped myself. Something clicked in my brain. "A Blessing. King Uther gave me a blessing, Merlin! I can go on the quest!" I exclaimed, extreamly happy. I had been waiting for a logn time to go on a quest on my own and I wasn;t going to pass up the chance now.

"Well," Merlin started, a look of distaste on his features. "I don't know. I don't want anything to happen to you, Maria. I care about you." He blushed.

My features softened. "Merlin, at least let me try. Please?" It took a lot of convincing but I finally perswaded him to let me join him.

Merlin sighed. "We can't run this by Arthur though, okay?" He said. I zipped my lips in a child-like fashion as we walked back from Giaus', from telling him our plan. He took some persuading too. "Let's leave at dawn. Then, there will be no way we'll get caught. OK?" He nodded as we came to my chamber doors. "Bye Maria. See you tomorrow." He laughed and waved as I dissipeared inside, to get prepared for the journey of my life.
