Natalie's POV

The week has passed and as I've been told, I can be released today.

It's been a week and I didn't saw Chase. Maybe he's too busy.

The doctor gave me pain medications just in case the pain go back. The nurses started to remove every wires and needles connected to my veins. I flinched a little as I felt a small pinch in my arms. They waved me a goodbye as they finished their work.

I stood up and limped a bit since my ankle is a bit sore. I will go to Chase's office to thank him and work for him as a return. If it wasn't for him, I won't be here alive.

I passed a lot of hallways and eventually, I got lost. I huffed in annoyance. Too big house, small population.

I mean, how the heck can Jerry and Chase live in this house? Walls are painted, there are gigantic frames hanging but I can still feel the loneliness lingering in this house.

"Hey." A chirpy voice broke me out of my thoughts and my hands suddenly feel sweaty.

"H-hi" I turned around and awkwardly waved my hands.

The girl standing in front of has a pale white skin, green eyes and black hair. She is dressed like a maid but her face scream money. She's so beautiful and that you can't resist her shining eyes. I feel insecure since I am not really beautiful like her. Plain dull blue eyes, plain brown hair, pale skin? Nothing compared to her.

"I am April." She smiled.

"Natalie" I replied softly but still smiled. "D-do you know-w where Ch-Chase's office?" I asked.

"I'll take you there. Come on follow me" And she started walking. I followed her and we stopped in front of a big mahogany door.

"This is the office of Mr. Lanister. I'll be downstairs if you need help."

I thanked her and she disappeared in the hallway. I took a big breath and knocked 3 times at the hard wood. I heard a mumble of 'come in' so I proceeded inside.

Chase is sitting in front of his desk full of unorganized papers. He is wearing an eyeglassed that bring out the sophisticated look out of him. His eyes met mine and in instant, my world stopped for a bit.

"Natalie, what do you need?" He asked nonchalantly. His cold words made me bow my head but I told myself that I might be probably disturbing his work.
"U-uh I was w-wondering if I-I can ap-p-ply as a nurse t-to you hospital so I ca-an repay you for s-saving me and tre-ating me good." I stuttered nervously.

"What course did you finished?"

"Nursing" I answered.

He thought for a bit as if weighing the cons and pros of hiring me, I think he isn't impressed by my attainment.

I really need this job. I need to get a new apartment where I can stay in. I need money to support myself and to start a new life.

"Okay." He sighed. "You'll be starting working tomorrow. 9 am or I'll fire you in instant." His words are so cold and it brought shivers in my back.

"Do I make myself clear, Ms. Snow?" Him adressing me as Ms. Snow made me feel a little hurt in my heart, but knowing that I am now his employee, he needs to treat me fairly, like the other employees in the hospital.

"Yes, Mr. Lanister" I formally replied before turning around. And I suddenly realized that I am currently homeless. I'll be sleeping in the pavements tonight.

"Ms. Snow, you should stay here in the mansion since you are currently homeless. You can stay at the attic. I already ordered April to clean the attic and lend you fresh clothes." He said.
I turned around and gave him a huge smile, I almost ran and hug him but I kept in mind that I am his employee so I should be formal.

"T- thank you, Mr, L-Lanister. I'll p-pay you when I c-can." I replied formally. The smile in my lips never wear off, even how much I try.

Then I turn around again and left. I'll have a temporary home, a work. I can start a new life.

I groaned at the stairs since I am planning to take a rest in my room, the attic.

Wait.

What?

The attic?

I sighed when I realized that I'll be staying in the attic. But I don't have time to whine about it. I should be grateful that he decided to let me stay for a while. He might be acting cold to me, but maybe it's his business mask. But he let me stay.

And that is the most important.
