She comes downstairs about 30 minutes later. She's got on an old blue sweatshirt of mine and leggings and some white socks. She looks cute. Her hair is up in a towel and her makeup is washed off. She's taken out that god forsaken thing in her eyebrow as well.
She comes over and stands beside my chair.
I look her over, and I take the towel off of her head to reveal the newly washed but still black and green hair underneath.
"I thought I told you to wash this out?"
"It dosent just 'wash out' it's hair dye."
"Dye? Like permanent?" I say with mild anger in my voice.
"Y-yes.." She says, starting to shake softly.
"Addison, there is hair dye in my bathroom, under the sink. It was Mari's, but I don't much think she will mind if you use it." I say softly.
I can tell she's surprised by my tone.
"Will you come with me? And get the back? I can reach it on my own.." She says and looks at me with her big brown eyes.
I sigh. I know what she's doing. She's sucking up to me, wearing my sweater, wanting me to come with her.
As much as I want to, I don't need to be soft right now.
Not looking up from the book I'm reading, I say coldly, "No Addison. You are able to dye your hair on your own. And don't get any on my sweater."
She lets out a little choked sound and she shakes a little bit. "O-okay.." She says as she walks upstairs.
Once again I can hear her crying.
I set my book down and lay my head down. This is hard.
Of course, my vampiric side is loving this, her suffering. But my human half is hating this, not wanting to hurt her.
Picking my head up I see it's almost noon, so I go to the kitchen to make food.
Cooking up some soup, I pour it in bowls and put bread on small plates beside of it.
I go back to the kitchen and pour drinks, a nice red wine mixed with A positive for Me, and a Sprite for Addie.
Walking back out of the kitchen I see her sitting at the table, dry, brown hair cascading over her shoulders. There's my Addie.
She's sitting quietly, she hadn't touched her food, and she knows exactly where to sit. Her hands in her lap, head down, perfect.
I smile at how perfect she looks.
I set her Sprite in front of her, almost startling her. She says softly, "thank you" and I nod and sit down at my spot.
She looks to me for the signal to start eating. I'm glad she still has this respect for me.
I pick up my spoon and she dives in, obviously being pretty hungry.
I smile and start eating.
After we finish eating, I sit back in my chair and look at her.
"Addison, I need you to understand. This is for the best."
Addie nods, and she says, "You've already spelled the house. I don't really have a choice.." She says sadly.
I laugh. "Yes! You are correct dear. I've contacted the university and all of your classes are now online. It's time to get back on track Addison."
She glares at me and I glare right back.
"I was on track. My own track. Not yours." She says spitefully.
"That's funny Addison. Being a juvenile delinquent is a great idea. Come on, really. It's time to stop. Go pull out your laptop. It's time to start on your makeup work."
She groans and goes and gets her laptop.
I clear the table and set up the lighting to help her study. She comes back to the table and starts working.
I go over and kiss her forehead.
"I love you Addison. Please understand that."
I walk away and I hear her crying again. Maybe she understands the gravity of her actions now.
